A secure digital health system begins with a secure IT infrastructure

As health care becomes increasingly digital, it becomes more important to protect the systems, data and infrastructure that hospitals, employees and patients depend on. It requires a security architecture that not only can handle today’s threats but also is ready for the digital opportunities and risks of the future.

Do you want to help secure the digital health system in the Region of Zealand East?

In connection with the establishment of the Region of Zealand East, efforts are being pooled into a new organization, Digitalization and Technology (DIT), which will help secure and develop the digital foundation for the region’s health services.

We therefore seek two security specialists for the Security Design section, who will play a central role in further developing our security architecture and ensuring that security is considered in digital solutions, methods and development processes from the start.

You will become part of a professional environment where you, together with colleagues and partners, will translate security requirements into concrete solutions and contribute to the region being strong against both current and upcoming security threats and cyber-attacks.

In the role you will among other things be a sparring partner in work with IT security policies, strategies and procedures. You will also contribute to compliance, risk management and implementation of policies that support special security requirements, so that security becomes an integrated part of how we design and develop digital solutions.

Accountabilities of the position

As a security specialist you will have the following responsibilities

Design and prevention

• Design and develop a security infrastructure, network security and security integrations for cloud services
• Ensure the framework for the use of firewalls, SIEM, Intrusion Detection, and security scanners as well as for improving and hardening the infrastructure
• Build and develop effective use of monitoring and analytics tools
• Build a portfolio of tools to perform mitigating controls and ensure implementing the technical architecture

Documentation, readiness, audit and knowledge sharing

• Prepare policies, standards, guidelines and risk assessments
• Work with data classification, ownership, assets and documentation of threats, vulnerabilities and deviations
• Contribute to readiness, audit, revision and reporting
• Cooperate with among others CFCS and DCIS on alerts and threats

Case handling

• Handling of incoming cases/queries
• Vendor management
• Projects and architecture design

You are motivated to develop and strengthen security in the IT infrastructure that underpins a modern and high-tech health service. You want to translate security requirements and strategic ambitions into concrete solutions and contribute to security being integrated into architecture and digital solutions from the start.

We imagine that you

• have a relevant IT technical education
• have experience with IT security, preferably within security architecture and design, and a solid understanding of infrastructure, vulnerabilities and risk management.
• have knowledge of networks, TCP/IP, operating systems (both server and endpoint) and virtualization - possibly supplemented with relevant certification in these areas
• think data-driven and holistic-architectural and are able to see connections and solutions in a complex setup
• are good at sharing knowledge and communicating security expertise to the organization and have an eye for security aspects in the design and development of information systems

In addition, we are looking for two colleagues who have influence and can prioritize and carry out security activities independently as well as in collaboration with the team. You are proactive, decisive and structured, and you follow up tasks to the end. At the same time you are a good partner who communicates clearly with colleagues at all organizational levels in both Danish and English. You maintain an overview, even when the pace is high. You meet challenges with good humor and work persistently and inclusively.

It is a condition of employment that you can obtain security clearance. In addition you must be able to present a criminal record, and we must be able to obtain references from your previous employments.

Salary and terms of employment

Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement listed below. The starting salary may vary depending on your seniority, experience, education and the geographic location of the workplace.

We become DIT

On 1 January 2027 Region Hovedstaden and Region Sjælland will be merged into Region Zealand East. In the new region, the corporate operations area Digitalization and Technology (DIT) will be established, which with about 1,600 employees will be Denmark’s largest public center for health technology.
