About the job

Ringsted Municipality is growing, and with a major boost to the work within urban development, business development, and regulatory tasks, we now seek two environmental officers for the wastewater area. We have both a permanent full-time position and a fixed-term full-time position for one year.

With us you will become part of a professionally strong team where we help each other, spar across disciplines, and together work to create good solutions within the water, nature and climate sector.

You will play an important role in the work with the municipal wastewater plan, discharge permits, connection permits and other wastewater-related tasks. At the same time you contribute to creating the necessary framework for the development of new housing and businesses.

About the job

In the wastewater area you will have an important role in the ongoing follow-up of the municipality's wastewater plan and the implementation of the plan's measures. You will also be part of the work to ensure that wastewater planning supports the municipality's development of new housing and business areas.

We carry out the tasks collectively, but the two positions have different academic focal points.

Regardless of which position you apply for, you will be part of a team where we help each other and collaborate across disciplines. Tasks will be adjusted to your experience and competences, and we expect that you want to develop professionally and contribute to the rest of the team’s tasks. You will have the opportunity to influence your work and participate in developing the area.

The permanent position

In the permanent position you will play a central role in both regulatory work and the further development of the municipality's wastewater area. You will also have a special role in near-surface groundwater, where you become the coordinator for the municipality's work in this area.

Your tasks will include, among other things

  • Follow-up on and development of the municipality's wastewater plan, including the preparation of addenda.
  • Wastewater-technical assessments and regulatory tasks in connection with housing and business development.
  • Processing of discharge and connection permits.
  • Coordination, planning and regulatory work regarding near-surface groundwater.
  • Contribution to climate adaptation and rainwater/hydraulic plans.

The fixed-term position for one year

In the fixed-term position you will be part of the daily case handling in the wastewater area with a particular focus on implementing the wastewater plan's measures in the open countryside.

Your tasks will include, among other things

  • Follow-up on the wastewater measures in the open countryside, including orders for improved wastewater treatment.
  • Handling of cases concerning private wastewater systems, rain gardens and infiltration trenches.
  • Follow-up on existing wastewater cases, including wastewater-cloaked properties.
  • Other case processing and dialogue with citizens, contractors and utility companies.

Who are you?

We are looking for employees with a relevant professional background, for example as an engineer, biologist, geologist, geographer or similar.

For the permanent position we are seeking an experienced employee with knowledge of the wastewater, groundwater or water area, for example from a municipality, utility or consulting firm. We place particular emphasis on your ability to work independently with regulatory tasks and have an interest in both planning and development of the area.

For the fixed-term position, experience with public administration or the wastewater area is an advantage but not a requirement. The most important is that you want to work with regulatory tasks, can understand legislation, and thrive with both independent work and collaboration with others. You will receive training and professional sparring from your colleagues.

We value that you

  • Can work independently, in a structured manner, and take responsibility for your own tasks.
  • Thrive on collaborating across disciplines.
  • Have good written and oral communication skills.
  • Are professionally curious and development-oriented.
  • Are interested in regulatory work, planning, and finding good solutions in collaboration with others.

About us

You will be part of Team Nature and Water in the Department of Nature and Environment under the Center for Climate and Growth. The team works with, among other things, wastewater, rivers, nature and climate. We have close collaboration across disciplines and value professional sparring, knowledge sharing and a good working environment.

We are looking for two employees for full-time positions

  • A permanent position.
  • A fixed-term position with a one-year contract.

You are welcome to indicate whether you are interested in the permanent position, the fixed-term position, or both.
