Do you want to lead a well-functioning HHX department and help set the direction for academic quality, well-being and development?

As head of education you will play a central role in ensuring high academic quality, well-being and a strong HHX profile. We are looking for a visible and approachable leader who is close to both students and staff, and who actively contributes to developing the department academically, pedagogically and socially.

You will be part of the upper secondary school’s management team and work closely with the principal and the other heads of education on both daily operations and strategic development. We attach great importance to you being a team player who can lead and create direction, but who also listens to and includes others' perspectives. At the same time you will be part of Herningsholm's overall leadership group, where you will have many leadership colleagues to spar with on leadership and competence and education development.

Everyday life is varied and sometimes unpredictable. You must therefore thrive in a role with great variation and be willing to participate in both professional and social activities – also outside normal working hours. Your visibility and accessibility in everyday life are decisive for creating engagement and community.

Your tasks will include

• Leadership and daily operations of the HHX department in Herning
• Profiling and development of the program in collaboration with internal and external partners
• Close contact with students, parents and other relevant actors, including the municipality
• Line management of about 25 staff
• Budget and financial responsibility for the department.

We expect that you

• Have a relevant academic qualification
• Have experience from the upper secondary sector and knowledge of the program structure
• Perhaps have teaching experience within the upper secondary curriculum
• Have interest in and understanding of current laws and regulations
• Can set clear direction and communicate clearly and credibly
• Work in a structured way and maintain overview in a complex everyday life
• Be independent, proactive and effective in your task solving
• Be collaborative and thrive in a developing organization.

Start date, salary and terms of employment

Start is January 1, 2027.

The position is full-time and salary is according to the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and the negotiating organization. An attractive pension scheme is offered as part of the employment.
