Two programme directors for the future of the pedagogue education

Would you like to help shape the education of future pedagogues? Can you lead a program with a student-centered focus, and do you have experience leading academically close to the teaching? Do you bring curriculum planning and quality in education together into a higher unity? And do you prefer to lead as part of a leadership team? Then you might be our new colleague.

We are looking for two leadership colleagues who will help translate the new pedagogy education into practice at the Copenhagen Metropolitan University College (KP) in close interaction with teachers, students and practice partners.

About the job

You will, together with another education leader, lead a unit with about 50 instructors who jointly bear responsibility for the complete study program for a number of cohorts in the pedagogy education at Campus Carlsberg. You will be the line manager for half of the instructors in the unit.

In addition, you will be part of the institute's overall leadership, where we are a total of 10 education leaders for the pedagogy education, the pedagogical assistant education and the professional master's education, as well as a head of research and development, a secretary leader and an institute chief. We are a strong working community focused on succeeding together.

As an education leader you will play a central role in tasks such as

• Personnel management and professional leadership
• Realisation of the new pedagogy education
• Implementation of a new organization of staff and leadership in the institute
• Development and support of strong working communities
• Leading and developing the education with a student-centered focus
• Planning and scheduling of the education
• Leadership of cross-cutting operations and project-oriented tasks across the institute and KP

No one can succeed alone in creating a good education – this is something we do in strong working communities, where we help, inspire and challenge each other. We believe professional leadership and dialogue about quality close to teaching and in collaboration with teachers and students are crucial for us to collectively create a good pedagogy education.

Educational development with a student-centered focus

We work purposefully to create a coherent and profession-oriented pedagogy education. The students should experience a clear through-line through the education and a strong link to practice. At the same time we continuously develop inclusive learning and study environments that strengthen well-being, community and engagement with the studies.

Collaboration, coherence and good planning

It requires good collaboration and planning to run and develop a good pedagogy education with coherence and balance between resources, ambitions and tasks. We need education leaders who can create direction, coordination and coherence between KP's strategic goals, the education's development, research and daily teaching.

About you

You have experience as a line manager close to pedagogical practice – e.g. from preschool, school/leisure, social-pedagogical services or an educational institution - and you know the daily life and professional challenges of pedagogues. You have a relevant academic education, preferably supplemented with a leadership qualification.

It is essential that you thrive in a close leadership collaboration, where you can balance between your independent leadership tasks and the shared leadership tasks with the students in focus. You are motivated to develop the education in collaboration with others and you have insight into how ambitions can be translated into concrete improvements for students and the quality of the education.

• Are passionate about strengthening the pedagogy profession in close interaction with the practice in which the students will operate
• Are focused on professional leadership close to teaching and have experience with it
• Focus on supporting a work environment characterized by engagement and trust
• Are curious, responsive and solution-oriented while making managerial decisions with calm and loyalty to the institute's shared priorities and direction
• Are strong in planning and organizing and make everyday life run smoothly for teachers and students
• Are motivated to be part of a leadership group where dialogue, sparring and support are important for the sense of community
• Are known for your good collaboration skills and your willingness to find common solutions.

About the institute

Institute for Pedagogy Education is part of the Faculty of Educational and Social Sciences, which also includes the Institute for Social Work Education and the Institute for Public Administration and Governance Education. With approximately 5,000 students and 275 staff spread across Campus Carlsberg, Campus Hillerød and Campus Bornholm, the pedagogy education at KP is Denmark’s largest.

Salary and terms of employment

You will be employed as an education leader starting February 1, 2027.

Employment and remuneration are generally in accordance with the agreement on Employment of managers at institutions within teaching, education and research in the Ministry of Education and Research's area. The position is a permanent role with no fixed maximum working time.

The workplace is located at Humletorvet 3, 1799 Copenhagen V.
