About the job

Would you like to help shape the education of the educators of the future? Can you lead an education with a student-centered focus, and do you have experience leading academically close to the teaching? Do you get educational planning and quality in the education to come together in a higher unity? And do you prefer to lead as part of a leadership team? Then you may be our new colleague.

We are seeking two leadership colleagues who will help translate the new teacher education into practice at Copenhagen University College of Education (KP) in close interaction with teachers, students and practice partners.

About the job

You, together with another educational leader, will lead a unit with about 50 teachers who collectively are responsible for the full study program for a number of cohorts in the teacher education at Campus Carlsberg. You will be the line manager for half of the teachers in the unit.

In addition, you will join the overall management of the institute, where we are a total of 10 educational leaders for teacher education, educational assistant education and professional master's program, as well as a head of research and development, a secretary general and an institute director. We are a strong working community focused on succeeding together.

As an educational leader you will play a central role in tasks such as

  • Staff management and professional leadership
  • Realisation of the new teacher education
  • Implementation of a new organisation of staff and leadership in the institute
  • Development and support of strong working communities
  • Lead and develop the education with a student-centered focus
  • Planning and scheduling of the education
  • Leadership of cross-cutting operations and project-oriented tasks across the institute and KP

Professional leadership and strong working communities

No one can succeed alone in creating a good education – it is something we do in strong working communities where we help, inspire and challenge each other. We believe that professional leadership and dialogue about quality close to teaching and in collaboration with teachers and students are crucial for us to collectively create a good teacher education.

Educational development with a student-centered focus

We work purposefully to create a coherent and profession-oriented teacher education. Students should experience a clear throughline through the program and a strong link to practice. At the same time, we continuously develop inclusive learning and study environments that strengthen well-being, community and attachment to the study.

Collaboration, coherence and good planning

It requires good collaboration and planning to operate and develop a good teacher education with coherence and balance between resources, ambitions and tasks. We need educational leaders who can create direction, coordination and coherence between KP's strategic goals, the development of the education, research and daily teaching.

About you

You have experience as a line manager close to pedagogical practice – e.g., from daycare, school/leisure, social-pedagogical services or an educational institution - and you know the daily life of teachers and professional challenges. You have a relevant academic education, preferably supplemented with a leadership qualification.

It is essential that you thrive in a close leadership collaboration, where you can balance between your independent leadership tasks and the shared leadership tasks with the students in focus. You are motivated to develop the education in collaboration with others and have a sense of how ambitions can be translated into concrete improvements for students and the quality of the education.

In addition, we imagine that you

  • Are passionate about strengthening the teaching profession in close collaboration with the practice in which the students will work
  • Are focused on professional leadership close to teaching and have experience with it
  • Focus on supporting a work environment characterized by engagement and trust
  • Are curious, attentive and solution-oriented while making leadership decisions with calm and are loyal to the institute's shared priorities and direction
  • Are strong in planning and organizing and make everyday life run smoothly for teachers and students
  • Are motivated to be part of a leadership group where dialogue, sparring and support are important for the community
  • Are known for your good collaboration skills and your willingness to find common solutions.
