We are looking for another veterinarian for our hospital and emergency team

As we are in continued growth, we are seeking a new colleague for our hospital and emergency team. The tasks are very varied and include consultations as well as intake of patients referred with acute problems. In addition, you are part of the team that examines and treats our admitted patients, including medical patients, trauma patients and admitted surgical patients.

The team currently consists of 6 veterinarians, including e.g. 1 diplomat in internal medicine, a Master in Internal Medicine and a Master’s student in emergency medicine. Naturally, we work closely with other areas such as ophthalmology, oncology, cardiology, neurology, dermatology, imaging and surgery. The physical premises are a ca. 2000 m2 newly built veterinary hospital with all imaginable aids, including fully in-house laboratory and MRI and CT scanner.

We are looking for a colleague who is professionally engaged mainly in the medical field and who either has documented further education or is interested in, in time, taking e.g. a master's/certificate in internal medicine/emergency medicine. Since we are a large house with many colleagues, and a lot of contact with both clients and referring veterinarians, good collaboration and communication skills are a prerequisite.

Anicura Aarhus Veterinary Hospital is the country’s first pure emergency and referral hospital, and we therefore do not provide preventive treatments such as vaccinations, nor neutering and dental treatments. Our patients are primarily sick animals that are either referred as emergency patients or referred for specialist examination/treatment.

Since the hospital is open 24-7, 365 days a year, you should expect to participate in a regular on-call rotation, which is however quite limited.

We are 60 colleagues and have a friendly and family-like tone, where we value social interaction and community highly. Knowing that we spend a large part of our life at work, we maintain a continuous focus on work/life balance and both the mental and physical working environment.

We currently have 18 veterinarians, most with a professional specialty, 26 nurses, many of whom are specialists in VS, 12 VSP students, 1 sterilization assistant, 1 animal caretaker, as well as 1 administrative staff member and of course our hospital manager. In addition, we employ 8 external on-call veterinarians and 10 external on-call VS interns.
