We are looking for an engaged, robust and professionally grounded colleague for a versatile position, where you will work with youths aged 18–29. The position combines:

• Mentor function under the Act on an Active Job Market Initiative
• Social-pedagogical support under the Social Services Act § 85
• Teaching, group programs and physical training in UngeBasen

UngeBasen is UngeVejen’s internal offering to youths who are currently further away from education or the labor market and who need support to take the next step toward education, work, paid hours or other meaningful communities.

About the job

As a colleague in UngeVejen you will play a central role in supporting youths to gain more structure, motivation and progression in their daily life. You will work on translating goals and plans into concrete steps that make sense for the individual young person.

Your everyday work will alternate between individual programs, social-pedagogical support, mentor tasks and teaching in UngeBasen.

You will also be co-developer of content, methods and activities, so the offering matches the youths’ needs and UngeVejen’s core task.

It is a role with great variation, where relationships, clarity and professionalism are decisive. You must be able to work independently and in a structured way, but also thrive in close collaboration with colleagues, authority advisers, guidance counselors, business consultants and external partners.

Your tasks will include, among others

• Take on mentor programs for youths in need of special support and close follow-up
• Provide social-pedagogical support under the Social Services Act § 85 with focus on structure, mastery and progression
• Support youths in arriving consistently and keeping appointments, education, internships, jobs or other activities
• Work on motivation, mastery strategies, independence and responsibility for one’s own life
• Plan, develop and implement teaching and group programs in UngeBasen
• Facilitate group programs focusing on everyday mastery, educational direction, job-oriented competencies, wellbeing, networks and community
• Work closely with relevant professionals and actors around the youth
• Document the effort and follow up on goals, sub-goals and development
• Be responsible for physical training (currently gym 2 times weekly)
• Contribute to the ongoing development of UngeBasen and UngeVejen’s overall youth effort

We are looking for someone who

• Has experience with youths in vulnerable positions
• Has experience with mentoring and/or social-pedagogical support under § 85
• Is a confident and experienced communicator who can teach and facilitate group programs
• Can create trusting relationships with clarity, warmth and recognition
• Understands youths with complex challenges, e.g. mental vulnerability, diagnoses, social difficulties or lack of connection to education and the labor market
• Can translate plans and goals into manageable actions together with the youth
• Has a sense of progression, documentation and quality
• Works independently, but also contributes actively to interdisciplinary collaboration
• Has a creative mindset and a desire to develop new programs and use existing methods in new ways
• Is flexible, adaptable and ready for a daily life where tasks can change
• Is proficient with IT as a working tool
• Has a drivers license. There is no requirement for own car, as we have municipal cars

It is advantageous if you have a pedagogical, social-educational or other relevant educational background.

About UngeVejen

UngeVejen is part of the Center for Employment in Faxe Municipality. We work holistically and across professions with youths who need support to move forward in education, work or other binding communities.

Salary and employment terms

This is a permanent position of 37 hours per week.

Salary and employment terms are according to the applicable collective agreement and the Ny Løn agreement.
