About the job

Employment Consultant for the Unemployment Benefit Team – Job Center Mariagerfjord

Can you spot a job match before others do?

Can you challenge a job seeker to think in new directions?

And can you translate good conversations into concrete job opportunities?

Then we may have the job for you.

We are looking for an employment consultant who wants to make a real difference for people receiving unemployment benefits. Not by initiating as many activities as possible, but by finding the right paths to work – and following them all the way.

Job is the goal. Collaboration is the path.

In the Unemployment Benefit Team we believe that people have resources, competencies and opportunities that can be brought into play on the job market. Some need a small nudge. Others need new perspectives, a clear direction or help to spot opportunities in a completely different industry.

We work from the JobFirst principles: The job market is the starting point, and a regular job is the goal. We believe that the path back to work goes through action and concrete opportunities. When we base our work on the individual’s qualifications and experiences and connect them with the needs of companies, we can create new perspectives and help to create direction, motivation and progression.

It requires professionalism, the courage to challenge conventional thinking and the ability to see opportunities in the individual.

You won’t have the whole task alone – and that is precisely the point

We have gathered several competencies in the department because we believe we achieve the best results when we play to each other’s strengths.

  • Our employment consultants are out with companies to find where there is a need for labor.
  • Our recruitment consultants work with concrete recruitment tasks and match candidates with the companies’ needs.
  • You know the citizens, their qualifications, experiences and motivation – and help build a bridge between people and the jobs that the companies actually demand.

Your task will be to bring the synergy to life in everyday work. You should be curious about job opportunities, share your knowledge with colleagues and bring citizens’ competencies into play when concrete openings arise.

We want to be closer to the needs of companies and even closer to the solutions that lead to regular hours and lasting attachment to the labor market.

What will you do?

In short: You will create forward movement.

You do this among other things by

  • Conducting conversations that provide direction, motivation and concrete actions – not just a new appointment in the calendar.
  • Helping citizens see their qualifications and opportunities, also outside their previous industry.
  • Providing honest, constructive and useful feedback on CVs and applications, so citizens become better at selling their competencies to employers.
  • Actively working with concrete job openings and job orders in close collaboration with the business and recruitment consultants.
  • Using company internships, wage subsidies, upskilling and regular wage hours as targeted pathways to employment.
  • Facilitating our job café together with colleagues. We share the task in turn, and here we create an active space for job hunting, sparring, inspiration and new perspectives.
  • Ensuring proper case management, documentation and follow-up.

You will have your own case load and the opportunity to follow the citizens’ development closely. We prioritize continuity and relationships, but also expect you to stay on track and dare to ask the questions that move things forward.

We care about whether it works

We are ambitious on behalf of the citizens – and for our own professional development.

With us, quality is not just something we talk about. It must be tangible in the effort we deliver and in the results we create.

We ask ourselves

  • Does our effort bring the citizen closer to a job?
  • Do we create real progression?
  • Do we actively use the needs of companies?
  • Do we do what works – and adjust when something doesn’t?

You should therefore be willing to take professional responsibility, reflect on your practice and contribute to us continually improving. We don’t expect you to have all the answers, but to be curious, engaged and committed to creating impact.

Who are you?

You may be trained as a social worker, hold a professional bachelor in public administration or have another relevant background. You have experience from the employment area, knowledge of the Act on Active Employment Efforts and a good eye for the opportunities of the labor market.

However, the most important is that you

  • Can build trust while being clear about direction and expectations.
  • Are good at motivating, challenging and giving concrete feedback.
  • Have a sense for both people’s resources and companies’ needs.
  • Can translate professional knowledge into action and results.
  • Work structurally and take responsibility for the quality of your task solving.
  • Thrive in collaboration and contribute actively to joint solutions.
  • Can maintain an overview, even when there is a lot going on.

We are looking for a colleague who can think independently and help others perform. Someone who sees opportunities rather than limitations – and who wants to make a difference together with us.

What do you get with us?

You get more than a case load and a calendar full of conversations.

You get

  • A thorough introduction and good colleagues to brainstorm with.
  • An independent daily life with the possibility to influence how tasks are solved.
  • A strong professional community with several different competencies.
  • Close collaboration on concrete job opportunities and company needs.
  • Possibilities for professional and personal development.
  • An workplace where we take the task seriously – but also remember humor and good collegiality.

In short: You will have the opportunity to help move people – from unemployment to work.

Shall we achieve results together?
