Ambitious project manager for the modernization of business-critical IT systems

The motor domain has a high degree of attention, not least due to strong political ambitions in the area, extensive EU initiatives, and new needs for IT support of the core business in the Motor Agency. As a project manager you will have a unique opportunity to be involved from the very start and lead projects with high business value.

In the Agency for Development and Simplification, we are responsible for the development and operation of a complex portfolio of IT systems and data solutions within the Tax and Growth Ministry's group. We develop solutions that ensure the Tax Administration has technologically up-to-date, user-oriented IT solutions of high quality, which comply with applicable requirements and IT standards.

You will become part of a large and important renewal of the motor domain

You will become part of the Motor Office, which plays a decisive role in IT support of the Motor Agency's business. We ensure stable operation, further development, and the strategic direction for the Motor Agency's IT systems. We place a high priority on learning and job satisfaction, and our work environment is informal and positive. We are based in modern office facilities in Frederiksberg, close to Flintholm Station, and we have free parking in the basement.

Experienced IT project manager with a black belt in stakeholder management

You will play a key role in developing the next generation of DMR, which is the Motor Agency's most important system for registering and calculating taxes for all vehicles registered in Denmark. The system is used for case processing, and data is exchanged between a large number of authorities and private actors. In other words, the complexity is top-level when it comes to stakeholder landscape and data flows in the system.

As a project manager you – in close collaboration with the Motor Agency – will be responsible for ensuring that all deliveries to the IT project are delivered on time and in high quality. You have extensive experience with data-driven domains where data is a core deliverable, and you know how to execute target architecture. You are pragmatic in your approach to project management and can navigate safely around obstacles and mitigate risks along the way.

The position also imposes strong requirements on your written communication skills, as you will continuously produce various types of documentation, including decision proposals and steering committee reporting to governance fora, management, and the Department. It is an advantage if you have experience from a politically governed organization and are used to working both independently and proactively.

In your daily work you are expected to

• Carry out effective project management focusing on decisions and progress, balancing scope, detailed planning, and economy
• Vendor management with a focus on value-creating collaboration
• Navigate confidently among stakeholders in a complex stakeholder landscape
• Prepare solid and precise decision proposals, project reporting, and other project documentation
• Support steering committees and report to the department and governance boards
• Provide and assess solution alternatives in close collaboration with, for example, system owners, business analysts, IT architects, etc.

Your background

You have a relevant educational background, and solid experience with project management from a similar position in private and/or public sector.

In addition, it is an advantage if you have

• Demonstrated project management experience with planning, execution and communication on projects in the order of plus 10 million DKK.
• Experience with supplier management and collaboration in a complex IT architecture, including requirements tracking and quality assurance of external deliveries.
• You have delivered projects where domains and data are in focus.
• Experience with both traditional and agile project and development methods.
• The ability to understand and critically assess complex technical and organizational issues.
• Experience in challenging professional assessments and ensuring adequate documentation basis for conclusions.
