About the job

Become an hourly-paid senior employee at the Forensic Psychiatry Department in Middelfart. Do you have many years of experience from the health sector, and have you retired or taken early retirement? Maybe you sometimes miss the company of colleagues, professional sparring, and the sense of making a difference for others.

Or perhaps you still want to use your professional skills, but no longer want a fixed working week with fixed shifts and obligations.

Then we may have the perfect offer for you!

At the Forensic Psychiatry Department in Middelfart we are looking for seniors for hourly paid work , who want to remain part of a professional and collegial community. We need experienced employees who would like to help us cover shifts – primarily on weekends or by arrangement.

With us you get the opportunity to use your experience, maintain your contact with your profession, and make a difference for people who need professional care, treatment and support. At the same time you get the flexibility to arrange shifts yourself according to your wishes and the department’s needs.

We are not looking for an employee for a permanent position, but for you who want to take shifts when it fits into your life.

We imagine that you …

  • Have a health professional education and preferably experience from psychiatry.
  • Have retired or taken early retirement, but still want to use your professional competencies.
  • Have gained experience and personal insight through a long working life.
  • Have calmness, composure, and the ability to keep an overview when situations become challenging.
  • Meet people with respect, curiosity and an open-minded approach.
  • Can contribute to creating security and de-escalating conflicts through your communication and behavior.
  • Appreciate a good collegial community where we help each other and maintain respectful conduct.
  • Desire to remain professionally active – without necessarily working as much as before.

You do not need to want many shifts. Perhaps you would like to work one weekend from time to time, maybe a little more often. The most important is that you want to contribute and be part of our community.

Who are we? The Forensic Psychiatry Department in Middelfart handles the forensic psychiatric function for the entire Region of Southern Denmark. We work with people with complex psychiatric problems who need professional care, treatment and support.

Forensic psychiatry is an exciting specialty where professionalism, relationships and the ability to stay calm are of great importance. Everyday life can be unpredictable, which places demands on our staff. In return, you get the opportunity to work on a meaningful task together with dedicated colleagues.

We place a high value on professionalism, integrity and respect. We want to be a workplace where we look after each other, stand together on tasks and value the different experiences and perspectives that employees contribute.

We believe that experience has great value - and that you can still want to make a difference even if you are finished with full-time work.

What can we offer you?

  • Freedom and flexibility: You are employed hourly with no fixed weekly hours and you arrange shifts according to your wishes and the department’s needs.
  • A meaningful job: You get the opportunity to continue using your professional skills and make a difference for people in a vulnerable situation.
  • A collegial community: You become part of a staff group where we help each other and value good colleagues.
  • A good introduction: We ensure that you are introduced to the department, patient group and the tasks you will handle.
  • Professional security: You are offered a conflict management course in connection with your introduction.

We do not expect you to start from scratch or prove everything you already know. We would like to give you the opportunity to bring your experience into play in new settings and to an extent that suits you.

Practical information Employment form: Hourly paid employment without fixed weekly hours.

Working hours: Shifts by arrangement and the department’s needs. There is capacity for day, evening and night shifts, typically of 8 hours. We especially need help with weekend shifts.
