Does your heart burn for the children and the close parental collaboration, where we are flexible and make an effort in the daily meeting, with the child, the parent and with colleagues, then you might be our new pedagogical assistant?

We are seeking a pedagogical assistant for the toddler unit and the kindergarten; the working hours are 37 hours per week by default and employment from January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Børnehuset Basthøj is located on the edge of Ganløse. We have a view of fields, sheep and horses, and border onto a large beautiful forest area Naturpark Mølleåen where we use the walking path diligently. Or we visit the ducks in the village pond – would you like to join the next trip?

On the playground there is not a stone that has not been turned or an insect that has not been studied. Here there is room for play, immersion and exploration.

Children need playful adults who can laugh together.

We are a staff group of both genders and ages, where engagement is our shared driving force in the professional work around the children. We believe that we go furthest when in dialogue we listen to each other and learn new things, where we see our differences as a strength that opens doors, windows, creates new perspectives – that is to see things in new ways.

We form the framework for the good childhood, and take the child’s resources and potentials as the starting point, where the relationship work with the children is always the adult’s responsibility . We are curious and dare to explore together with the children, and find new ways and different ways to act.

In the learning environment we work in a structured way and in small groups of children and engage in our professional work around the children.

We work with adult order so everyone knows what to do when they come in - throughout the day.

Norming is distributed by resources to the children over the whole day.

The kindergarten is functionally divided into many small learning environments where we distribute and participate in the children’s play throughout the day. The children are attached to 1 of 2 groups with their fixed primary adults.

The toddler unit is in 2 groups which are in close cooperation with each other and across with the kindergarten. The learning environment is divided into small areas that provide overview, presence and immersion.

We are looking for a pedagogical assistant

• Who likes to play with children
• Who can work independently, but who can also engage in close collaboration with parents and staff.
• Is flexible and engaged
• Has an acknowledging approach to children, parents and staff
• Is caring and presenceful towards children
• Is loyal, stable and dutiful
• Enjoys being outdoors in all kinds of weather

• You will have a leader who is good at giving professional feedback and one of my questions could be; how is your relationship with the child, the parent and the colleague?
• We expect a high level of professionalism from ourselves and we also expect that from you. The agreements we make become active action.
• Together we focus on maintaining our low sickness absence and a good working environment.

With us you as a pedagogical assistant can work in structured work environments with plenty of opportunities for exploration and immersion. You can work reflectively with sparring from your colleagues and work independently in close collaboration with staff and parents. You have a monthly 1x1 conversation with your leader.
