About the job

Are you administratively strong, structured and solution-oriented? Do you thrive in a daily life where high quality, specialized professionalism and great political attention form the framework for government work? And would you help ensure responsible waste management across Denmark's borders? Then read on here!

A job with responsibility and meaning At the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities' Office for International Waste and Classification we handle, among other things, reviews of transport of certain types of waste across Danish borders. We must ensure that the waste is handled in accordance with both Danish and international rules. It is a task with many complexities, and therefore we are looking for another skilled case handler for our Import/export team.

As a case handler in the team you will play a central role in solving our core task, and in ensuring compliance between administrative basis and practice, ongoing progress in cases and not least a high level of service. You will become part of a team consisting of several case handlers, AC technicians and lawyers, who daily work closely together to solve tasks across disciplines.

Your everyday will include many varied tasks, for example

  • Processing applications for import and export of waste.
  • Response to general inquiries and questions about it.
  • Dialogue with and guidance of companies and authorities – both Danish and international.
  • Administrative tasks such as handling and filing of incoming physical and electronic mail, answering telephone inquiries, invoicing of fees, etc.
  • General follow-up, documentation and updating in relevant systems.
  • Administrative assistance to the International Waste Inspection team in connection with physical control of waste transport.

In practice you will act as the Energy Agency's point of contact for companies in the sector as well as Danish and foreign authorities. Therefore it is important that you are good at communicating with external stakeholders with different backgrounds and that you master English in both writing and speech.

Common to the tasks is that you will independently take on exciting tasks with great societal attention. We focus on ensuring that no one is alone about a responsibility area, and that there are good frameworks for professional dialogue and cooperation, where you can draw on colleagues' knowledge and experience. There will be on-the-job training where you quickly begin to work with your own cases in close sparring with experienced colleagues.

About you We imagine you may be educated as an administrative assistant or have a relevant long further education. In addition it would be an advantage to be systematic and thorough, quality-conscious and a skilled communicator, both oral and written. In your application we would like to read concrete examples of:

  • How you bring your professional knowledge and personal competences into play in your work.
  • When you experience that you succeed best at solving a task together with others.
  • How you navigate in a busy everyday life where both long-term and unforeseen tasks are a condition.
  • What you think you can contribute to our team and the tasks we solve.

It is not a requirement that you know anything about waste or waste management. It is, however, important that you are passionate about the administrative core task and that you take pride in following administrative processes from start to finish. It is also an advantage if you have experience from public administration and not least that you thrive with routine tasks, but at the same time want to contribute when good solutions for new tasks need to be found.

A good place to be You will become part of a professionally strong team with a lot of knowledge and high well-being. We focus on collaboration, helpfulness and an informal working environment where we laugh together every day. With us you will have the opportunity to develop your competencies and gain insight into an important environmental area with great political attention.

Salary and employment terms It is a full-time position with employment as soon as possible or no later than 1 January 2027. Employment and pay are in accordance with the state academics collective agreement as a full-time employee, or as an administrative functionary under the applicable collective agreement between the Ministry of Finance and Public Employees Organisation (OAO-S joint agreement) and the then current organizational agreement between the Ministry of Finance and HK/Stat for administrative staff, laboratory technicians and IT staff (HK).

It may be a condition of employment that you can obtain security clearance for TTJ and maintain the clearance under the rules in force at any time.

The employment area is the Ministry of Climate, Energy and Utilities with the affiliated institutions. The place of employment is the Danish Energy Agency in Odense, Lerchesgade 35, 5000 Odense.

Additional information can be obtained by contacting team leader Mathias Nylandsted Benediktson at tel. 29 27 23 68 or office manager Rikke Slot Benyahia at tel. 21 12 98 95.

The Danish Energy Agency regards diversity as an asset and encourages everyone regardless of personal background to apply for the position.

Application deadline is 9 November. We expect to hold first interviews on 19 November and possibly second interviews on 23 November.
