About the job

Our team for the preparation of accounting statistics for the agricultural industries needs a new colleague.

About the position

We are looking for a colleague who can participate in the work with the preparation of our annual Accounting Statistics for agriculture, which also reports to the EU's common database "Farm Sustainability Data Network". The statistics illuminate the farms' economic situation, but also selected environmental and social indicators used to evaluate and develop the common European agricultural policy in a sustainability perspective.

The statistics are built primarily on farm accounts, which are mainly collected electronically from the agricultural sector's common accounting system Ø90.

Together with the rest of the team your main tasks will consist of

  • quality assurance of received accounts and information on environmental- and social indicators
  • alignment of data from internal and external data sources for the statistics,
  • forwarding information to the EU Commission,
  • cooperation on the preparation of the statistics,
  • presentation of the data basis.

Since we are a small team, you should expect to be involved in all tasks on equal footing with the rest of the team, and you will also contribute to the office's other statistics production. You should therefore have an interest in economics, the agricultural industries and the food system.

The position is located in the department Food Economy with 17 employees, who prepare statistics on the food economy sectors: agriculture, horticulture, fisheries and aquaculture as well as food sales. The statistics illuminate the development of the sectors' structure, production and economy at both micro- and macroeconomic levels.

Competencies

We attach importance to that you

  • have a relevant academic education (e.g., master's in agricultural economics or similar social science education)
  • have knowledge of and preferably experience with accounting and economy as well as production conditions in agriculture and horticulture
  • have knowledge of statistical method
  • have knowledge of IT (Excel, Python, R)
  • are quality-conscious, responsible and result-oriented
  • demonstrate flexibility and help where needs are greatest
  • are good at written and spoken communication

Salary and employment

Salary and terms of employment are set according to qualifications in accordance with the relevant collective agreement. There may possibly be negotiation of qualification allowances for the position.

The employment will as a starting point be as a salaried employee under the current collective agreement for academics entered into between the Ministry of Finance and a number of academic organizations.

The employment will be on a full-time basis and with commencement as soon as possible.
