About the job

Maternity leave cover with a focus on child welfare investigations.

Do you have an eye for the young person’s overall life situation, strong social work competencies, and a desire to work in an investigative and analytical way—in a professionally strong environment where we help each other and share our perspectives?

In Ungeliv i Din Sociale Indgang Børn (DSI) City-Østerbro we are seeking a child and youth advisor for a maternity leave cover, where your primary task will be to prepare child welfare assessments in accordance with the Child Act.

With us you will become part of a strong professional and collegial community, where we work with young people aged 14-18 and with youth support up to the age of 23.

Our youths and families are in very different life situations, and we work with both early and preventive interventions and complex problems where there may be a need for extensive support.

About the job

As a child and youth advisor with a special focus on child welfare assessments, you will play a central role in identifying and analyzing the needs for support of the young person and the family. Your tasks will include, among other things, to

  • plan, conduct, and prepare child welfare assessments under the Child Act
  • hold conversations with young people and parents, ensuring that their perspectives are an active part of the assessment
  • identify the young person’s and the family’s resources, challenges and need for support
  • involve the family’s private and professional networks and obtain relevant information
  • analyze and compare information from different perspectives and translate them into clear social-work assessments
  • collaborate closely with the other child and youth advisors on coherence and direction in the individual case.

You do not work alone with the task. We actively use each other for professional sparring and reflection, and you will become part of a work community where we are focused on qualifying our social-work assessments through different perspectives.

Ungeliv has high professional standards—and room for each other

In Ungeliv we work based on the principles of Close to Family, inspired by the Swedish model. This means, among other things, that we prioritize the relationship with the young person and the family, inclusion, and close cooperation with both the family’s own network and the professionals around the family. We are curious about both difficulties and resources. We want to understand what is at stake in the young person’s life and what is needed to create positive development.

We want to be known for high quality in authority work, clear professionalism, and close and persistent work with the young people and their families. At the same time, we attach great importance to Ungeliv being a good place to work. We have a strong collegial unity, use each other’s knowledge and perspectives, and prioritize professional discussions in everyday life. We believe that high professionalism also requires a workplace where you can ask for help, challenge each other, and laugh together.

The two authority teams in Ungeliv consist of 18 engaged child and youth advisors and two department heads. In addition, we have advisors with special roles, including a focus on child welfare assessments.

Who are you?

We imagine that you are a trained social worker, social facilitator, or have another relevant social education background.

We would like you to have experience with authority work in the child and youth field and especially with the preparation of child welfare assessments. We also value your social-work approach, your analytical abilities, and your desire to develop professionally. We also hope that you

  • have strong social-work and analytical competencies and can translate complex information into clear and well-founded judgments
  • are good at establishing contact and collaborating with youths and families, even when the relationship requires a little extra
  • are curious and investigative and have an eye for both resources, risks, and development opportunities
  • can work systematically and independently and have good written communication skills
  • can create an overview and momentum in the investigation process while maintaining a view of the individual young person’s situation
  • thrive on professional sparring and see colleagues’ perspectives as an important part of solving tasks
  • contribute actively to the community both professionally and collegially
  • would preferably have experience with DUBU.

And it certainly doesn’t hurt if you have personal impact and a healthy sense of humor.

We offer

With us you get

  • the opportunity to work purposefully and in depth with child welfare assessments in the youth field
  • a workplace with high professionalism and complex, meaningful authority tasks
  • engaged and experienced colleagues who actively use each other
  • close professional sparring with colleagues and management
  • a work community where we prioritise reflection, professional development, and quality in our work
  • a workplace where we both set demands on professionalism and acknowledge that good authority practice is created together.

Salary and employment terms

The position is a maternity leave cover for 37 hours per week with start on December 1, 2026. The position is expected to run until November 30, 2027. Employment is in accordance with the collective agreement for social workers, social facilitators and/or HK agreement for administration and IT. Upon hiring, we will obtain an expanded criminal record certificate and a child’s suitability certificate.
