About POLARIS Center Herning

POLARIS Center Herning is the specialized part of the municipal psychiatry in Herning Municipality. We offer preventive interventions, acute services, housing support, day services, residential care, as well as VISO deliveries to other municipalities. We work from recovery-oriented principles and focus on strengthening citizens' self-determination and self-reliance.

We take care of people who for a while have lost their navigation in parts of their lives. Together with the citizens, we identify the goals that should be the guiding star for their recovery journey toward an independent life outside the municipal psychiatry.

Your everyday life with us

What all tasks have in common is that you as an employee, in collaboration with the citizen, start from the person’s resources, needs, values, and that you in an appreciative manner create trust and security in relation to strengthening the individual’s ability and possibility to master their own life.

You will in your work have a close collaboration with other departments in POLARIS as well as colleagues in the area, for example the Substance Abuse Center, advisors in the Guardianship/Authority Department, as well as doctors and the psychiatry, etc.

The support is provided in the citizen's home and Round-the-clock Housing Support works from a rehabilitative practice supported by the values and the fundamental attitude of the Recovery approach. In our practice we apply the core principles of the municipal psychiatry – together for recovery as our understanding of the core task.

The purpose of Round-the-clock Housing Support is

To support the citizen in their individual and targeted development plan, which should give the citizen as much authority as possible to handle everyday life independently – empowerment. You must therefore focus on ensuring that the citizen, through your individual support, becomes better able to make everyday life function on their own terms and thereby achieve the greatest possible influence on their own life.

You should have the desire and the ability to get to know people who lead lives with many challenges – you should want to make a difference. It requires perseverance, the ability to motivate, drive, as well as personal and professional resilience.

Who are you?

We expect that you have an education as a pedagogue, or nurse, SSA or similar, and you

• Have experience in working with citizens with psychosocial issues
• Can see development potential in the citizens, in yourself, and in your surroundings
• Will help to develop and promote the good culture in the organization
• Have good collaboration skills and a desire to work across and multidisciplinary
• Desire professional and personal development and set demands on yourself in relation to this
• Can reflect on your practice.
• Have good computer skills and communicative abilities both in writing and speaking
• Contribute with a good mood and the willingness for good collegial cooperation
• Have a driver's license
• Own car to be used for citizen visits.
• Want to work with varying hours and every 3rd weekend.

You will become part of a professionally strong team

You will become part of Round-the-clock Housing Support, where we work with a high degree of independence and initiative. You will experience that we work according to 'freedom with responsibility', and that we do not have unnecessary rules, but use common sense. The communication is informal and open, and we value the good social atmosphere at the workplace.

Salary and terms of employment

Salary according to applicable collective agreement and according to the principles of local pay formation
