About the job

Are you analytically strong, good with numbers and written communication – and do you have an eye for how best to support a management in a busy everyday life? Do you want to work with children and youths in a politically governed organization, where tasks range from data and analyses to coordination, planning, meeting preparation and leadership support?

Then you may be our new colleague in the secretariat in the Area for Leisure and Youth.

Here you will be part of a well-functioning team, where we solve a wide range of tasks across the area. You will have the opportunity to bring your analytical, administrative and communicative competences into play – and to contribute to ensuring that the management and the area's units have a solid basis for making decisions and implementing them.

About us

The Area for Leisure and Youth works to ensure that more young people choose a youth education, that children and youths have access to strong external learning environments, and that there are good municipal leisure offers for children and youths aged 10-18.

The secretariat supports the area's leadership and the associated units and offerings. We work in the intersection of politics, administration and practice, and our tasks require both professional thoroughness, an overview and the ability to collaborate across the organization.

Your tasks

You will have a diverse everyday life with both fixed operational tasks and tasks that arise along the way. You will among other things work with

  • Leadership and secretarial support: Plan and prepare written material for management meetings, steering group meetings, develop timelines and ensure follow-up on agreements and decisions
  • Meeting preparation and coordination: Support leadership dialogues and various meeting forums through agendas, meeting materials and summaries, and contribute to moving tasks and processes forward.
  • Data and analyses: Solve smaller analytical tasks, including data extraction, data processing, quality assurance and dissemination of results
  • Project support: Contribute to planning and execution of projects and events in the youth and leisure area.
  • Case processing: Handle ongoing cases, including access to records and other inquiries, with a sense of quality, accuracy and timeliness
  • You will have independent responsibility for concrete tasks, while working closely with colleagues and leadership. It is therefore important that you can both dive into details and keep an overview of the bigger picture

About you

You may be newly educated or have a couple of years' experience – ideally from a politically governed organization. The most important is that you have a solid professional toolbox, are curious about our area and want to actively contribute to the secretariat's tasks and collaboration.

We imagine that you

  • have a relevant higher education, e.g., in social sciences
  • have strong quantitative skills and enjoy Excel, data processing and analysis
  • are analytical, structured and proactive and can quickly get into new subject areas and create an overview of complex issues
  • write clearly and precisely and can translate complex material into easy-to-understand presentations and messages that fit the recipient
  • work independently and take initiative, but at the same time know when it is important to spar with others and align expectations
  • have a sense for management's needs and can contribute to creating an overview, coordination and progress – also when tasks develop along the way
  • are good at building relationships and collaborating with different professional backgrounds and organizational levels
  • thrive with multiple tasks at the same time and can prioritize between operational tasks and development tasks in a daily life where pace and needs can change
  • have an interest in the interplay between politics, administration and practice

As a person you are approachable, responsible and collaborative. You have good situational awareness, interact with others professionally and contribute to a trusting cooperation. You work meticulously with your tasks, follow up on agreements and have an eye for both detail and the whole. At the same time you are curious, flexible and not afraid to take action when help is needed

We offer

  • an exciting and varied job at one of the country’s largest workplaces
  • opportunity to work closely with the leadership and gain insight into decision-making processes in a politically governed organization
  • a strong professional environment focusing on children and youths' opportunities and well-being
  • skilled and engaged colleagues who collaborate on tasks in an open and informal tone
  • good opportunities for professional and personal development
  • a good working environment with focus on balance between work and private life

Your daily workplace will be in the Bydækkende Center for Young People and Special at Gyldenløvesgade 15, 1600 Copenhagen V – within walking distance of Copenhagen City Hall and close to Vesterport Station.
