About the job

Possibility of a low ward duty load and/or also possibility of a fixed night shift if desired.

Are you interested in, or curious about, the neurological specialty? We are at a stage where our department is about to begin building sub-acute/acute neurology. If you want to be involved from the start, now is the time to apply!

We are particularly looking for a nurse with 1 or more years of experience, but there is also room for the newly educated nurse. We work with individual onboarding programs and competence cards and receive very good feedback from new employees in our department regarding our onboarding program and how we welcome new colleagues. During the day we typically work in small teams, so we strive for tailored assigned care in the team, where everyone's competencies come into play.

We are looking for a nurse who

  • Has Danish authorization.
  • Has an interest in the neurological specialty.
  • Would like to be involved in building acute neurology.
  • Is able to appreciate and manage extensive multidisciplinary collaboration around the individual patient.
  • Wants to help develop our department.
  • Is open and accommodating in dialogue with patients, relatives, partners and colleagues.
  • Wants to contribute to a continued good working environment.
  • Focused on good patient pathways and good transitions across sectors.
  • Wants to work with both the basic and the complex nursing.

You will experience in the position

  • That your assessment as a nurse carries great weight in the multidisciplinary assessment of the individual patient.
  • Close collaboration with colleagues where we help each other and have ample opportunity to develop your nursing competencies with a challenging somatic, complex patient category.
  • That professionalism, coherence and quality for the patients are highly valued.
  • A visible and open leadership with a focus on the working environment and development.
  • A strong focus on work-life balance.

The Department of Brain and Nervous Diseases is a ward with bed capacity for 20 patients. We can offer our patients single rooms in modern surroundings. Most of our patients come to us for the start of neurorehabilitation, where we work multidisciplinary around the individual patient with a focus on creating good patient pathways. Our patients often have diagnoses such as stroke, head injuries and cancer.

It is important that you want to work with a complex patient group and see it as a benefit that patients are hospitalized on average for 6-12 days. This provides an opportunity to get to know them a little better.

We are a department that values a good working environment and helping each other in our daily lives. We also use daily timeout.

We have a strong focus on education and competency development. We host, among others, "Neurobasis Education 1 and 2", Neuro-nursing, participate in the region's SKILLS stations and use our Clinical Competence Center with a focus on training in instrumental nursing. There is the option of a diploma module in Neurological Continuing Education for experienced nurses after 1-2 years of employment. Our introductory program will be tailored to your individual needs depending on your previous experience.

The position is either in mixed shifts with a preference for day/evening shifts, or if you are a night owl and primarily want night shifts, we are also open to that possibility. We have weekend shifts on average every 3rd weekend. If you want to work every 2nd weekend, that is also an option. The position is to be filled as soon as possible. Planned holidays/time off will be accommodated.
