In Department C at Frederiksodde School we are looking for an engaged educator who wants to make a difference for our wonderful children and become part of a multidisciplinary community.

Our children have complex disabilities and significant cognitive and communicative challenges. Several do not have a verbal language or have limited speech. They need attentive adults, clear structures and support to develop at their own pace.

Our pedagogical work

AAC, sign-to-speech and visual support are important tools in our daily life. We work to give the children the opportunity to express wishes and needs, be understood and have influence on their own lives.

We work with low arousal, where we meet the children with calmness, respect and understanding. We are focused on looking beyond the behaviour, preventing conflicts and adapting demands to each child's abilities. At the same time, we use structure, predictability and KRAP to support the children's well-being and development.

Our mission is life competence – to give the children the greatest possible independence, participation and influence over their own lives.

We are looking for someone who

• is a qualified educator and wishes to work full time
• is attentive, patient and curious about the individual child
• has an interest in AAC, sign-to-speech and low arousal. Experience is an advantage, but not a requirement
• can create safety and structure and thrives in a multidisciplinary collaboration.

Salary and employment terms

In accordance with the applicable collective agreement between KL and the bargaining representative organization.

References will be checked upon appointment.

Criminal record certificate

A criminal record certificate will be requested upon employment. Employment is conditional on the certificate having no remarks of significance for the performance of the specific position.

Child certificate

For employment involving work with children and young people, a child certificate will be obtained. Employment is conditional on a child certificate without remarks.
