About the job

Do you want to create good experiences for children and young people with special needs?

We are looking for a new colleague who wants to work with children and young people with an autism diagnosis and developmental disabilities.

About Kvisten

Kvisten is part of the respite care offering Skovhusene, which consists of three departments. The children live at home with their families and come to respite care with us with overnight stays on one weekday evening per week and one weekend per month.

We receive children and young people aged 3 to 18 years with developmental disabilities to varying degrees. Most of our children have autism and have limited or no speech. Therefore, we work with alternative communication forms such as PECS, symbol boards and pictograms, which help us create a safe and predictable everyday life for the children.

We place emphasis on meeting the children with presence and understanding of their individual needs. Several of the children need support with personal care and hygiene, including help with bathing, bathroom visits and diaper changes.

About the job

The children come to Kvisten after school around 15:00, and the afternoon and evening feature fixed routines with food, bathing, activities and bedtime. On weekends we have more time to go on trips out of the house, do activities and create good experiences together with the children.

You will be a contact person for a group of children and will be responsible for their pedagogical plans, risk assessments and documentation in our professional system DOMUS. You will work closely with colleagues, families, schools, child and youth counselors and other professionals. You will also participate in meetings related to enrolment, networking and follow-up.

We hold team meetings where we discuss the children's development, goals and the pedagogical efforts. In addition, you will participate in joint staff meetings across Skovhusene, where we also have internal and external training.

Who are you?

You are a pedagogue who meets the children with presence, clarity and a positive approach. You can create calm and structure when needed, but also have a lot of energy, humor and drive.

You are good at keeping an overview and taking responsibility, even when everyday life becomes challenging. You are professionally curious, take initiative and want to contribute with your ideas and experiences in the pedagogical work.

You thrive both in the quiet moments when the children need safety and predictability, and when it is time to plan activities and create good experiences together with the children. We have among other things a playground, gym, cargo bikes and an institutional bus, which provide good opportunities for different activities.

What can we offer you?

With us you will become part of a staff group focused on both professionalism and job satisfaction, where there is room for laughter, humor and good experiences together. Daily life can sometimes be busy and challenging, but we help each other, share our experiences and stand together when needed.

We place great emphasis on collegial community and on creating a workplace where you look forward to coming in. With us there is room for different personalities, new ideas and initiatives, and we appreciate colleagues who bring good energy, take initiative and want to help create good days for the children when they are with us.

You will have the opportunity to shape the pedagogical work with your ideas and experience. We prioritize professional sparring, and you will receive external supervision together with the team. At Kvisten we have our own internal training, tailored to the target group. It strengthens our shared professionalism and gives us concrete tools for the pedagogical work in everyday life.

Employment terms

The work is on a rotating schedule, where you mainly work 5:2 and are attached to our Wednesday/Thursday team.
