About the job

Do you want to use your pedagogical professional skills in a job where you will be challenged and have the opportunity to develop yourself? And do you want to become part of an engaged and professional staff group that makes a difference for children with special needs every day?

Then perhaps you are the person we are looking for for our Focus Classes at Nr. Uttrup School.

About the position

We are seeking a trained pedagogue for a position with hours in both the school part and the after-school part, DUS. The working hours will be in the period from 06:30 to 17:00. In the school part, the position will be in the youngest department, where the students are from 1st to 6th grade.

In the Focus Classes there are 54 wonderful students who have been referred to this offer by PPR. The students may have complex challenges, for example within the emotional, academic and social areas. Some students may also have contact difficulties, specific cognitive challenges, various diagnoses or psychiatric issues.

You will become part of a skilled and engaged staff group of about 20 teachers and pedagogues who work closely together on the students' well-being, learning and development. In addition, Nr. Uttrup School is an ordinary public school with about 500 students.

Our values

At Nr. Uttrup School we work based on the values

  • Collaboration
  • Responsibility
  • Perseverance
  • Self-control

We expect that employees, students and parents support the values and actively contribute to a safe, respectful and binding community.

Pedagogy in Focus Classes

Everyday life in Focus Classes is characterized by structure, recognizability and clear frameworks. We work purposefully to create a safe and developing environment where all students feel they belong and have a meaningful place in the community.

Our work with each student takes its starting point in a pedagogical triplet consisting of:

  • academic development
  • personal development
  • social development

The three areas are treated as equal and are integrated into all learning situations and activities in which the students participate.

The overall goal of the students' schooling in Focus Classes is that they obtain the best possible conditions to develop, thrive and learn. We want the students to acquire the necessary academic, personal, social and cultural competences so that they are equipped to complete an educational pathway and participate actively in society.

In short, we work to strengthen the students' life skills.

We are looking for you if you

  • work purposefully and structured
  • can look beyond the students' behavior and understand the needs and feelings behind their reactions
  • can accommodate the students' different expressions and meet them with calm and curiosity
  • are professionally strong and well-founded in your pedagogical practice
  • are flexible and contribute constructively to the interprofessional collaboration
  • meet students, parents, colleagues, PPR and other partners with a positive and acknowledging approach
  • dare to have ambitions on behalf of the students, even when their challenges are complex
  • can work independently and at the same time see the value in close collegial sparring
  • can maintain overview and calm in stressed situations
  • are mentally robust and have good emotional balance
  • can create safety through clarity, presence and care
  • can meet the students with the care they need, whether it is a clear framework, a calm conversation or a hug
  • have experience with team collaboration and believe that we, together, focus on the core task

We offer you

  • students who are eager to come to school
  • an engaged parent group who support the school's values and work
  • a school with a clear focus on academic excellence, well-being and development
  • a leadership that is close to the students' learning and the staff's pedagogical practice
  • good opportunities for professional sparring with colleagues and management
  • skilled and engaged colleagues who prioritise collaboration and shared responsibility
  • opportunities to influence your own work and to shape the pedagogical development
  • a workplace that values an equal and close collaboration between teachers and pedagogues
  • a daily life where your professional knowledge, judgment and relational competence have great importance

Neuropedagogical approach

We focus on a neuropedagogical approach in our pedagogical practice. Knowledge of or experience with neuropedagogy will therefore be an advantage, but it is not a requirement.

The most important thing is that you are curious about the students' perspectives and eager to develop your practice together with us.

Do you want to make a difference?

If you can see yourself in the above and wish to become part of a strong professional community, we look forward to receiving your application.
