Do you want to help build a completely new special education offer?

We are looking for an engaged and academically strong special education teacher for our newly established lower-primary special classes series for children with significant and lasting functional impairments. The position gives you an unique opportunity to influence pedagogy, structure and the learning environment from the start.

On 1 March 2026 we welcomed our first four pupils to Year 0. In the long term, the special classes series will consist of three groups with up to six pupils in each group.

About the position

As a special education teacher you will be a central actor in the further development of the provision. You will work closely with pedagogues, assistants, teachers and management and receive ongoing professional sparring from PPR.

The special classes series is housed in an independent, newly renovated house in Ebberød — beautifully located on the edge of Rude Forest. Both indoor and outdoor areas are designed with a focus on safety, structure and sensory learning environments.

You will play an active role in the students' entire day

• In the school day you participate in planning and delivering instruction as well as in working on the students' personal and social development.
• In the afternoons and during school holidays you are part of a meaningful and developmental leisure time offer.

About the provision

We are an early-years department and are organizationally part of Dronninggård Classes, which is Rudersdal Municipality's comprehensive special provision for intellectually typical children and young people within the autism spectrum.

We work holistically and interdisciplinary with a focus on: structure, predictability, care, relationships and safety in a multidisciplinary collaboration.

Target group

The pupils in the special classes series typically

• A cognitive functional level substantially below age-appropriate.
• Diagnoses such as autism spectrum disorder, attention disorders and syndromes.
• Sensory processing difficulties and socio-emotional challenges.
• Limited functional language and difficulties with social communication.
• Varying degrees of self-help skills.

• Have special education experience with the target group and knowledge of autism spectrum disorders and complex issues.
• Work with care, be structured and able to create predictability for the students
• Are strong in relationship-building and can adapt communication to the individual student
• Are flexible, collaborative and motivated to contribute to the school's ongoing development
