About the job

Can you provide loving, honest and predictable structures for students with special needs? And do you have a strong interest in special education? Then you should apply for a maternity leave replacement in our wonderful sequence of special classes.

We are seeking a colleague who is trained as an educator and will help further develop our special services in a strong team collaboration and learning community. For us, the core and development task lies both in the close team collaboration, where we are 4-5 colleagues working closely with the approx. 8 students in the class, and in cross-team collaboration in our shared KKFO.

We are seeking an educator for the primary school in a maternity leave replacement from January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter.

At Kirkebjerg School, the core value of community is wellbeing – the personal, the relational and the academic. Here the ceiling is high, and we welcome your good ideas and help to bring them to life. We have, among other things, introduced both outdoor school and school chess on the initiative of our engaged educators and teachers.

Our expectations of you

It is not decisive whether you have experience working with children diagnosed within the autism spectrum and ADHD – but it is essential that you are keen to work with it. In addition, we expect that you

  • must be a role model for the children, show the way, create safe boundaries and take responsibility for the children's learning
  • have experience with and/or willingness to work with visualisation, clarity and structure – including TEACCH-inspired working methods and the use of pictograms etc.
  • see team collaboration as a strength and be open to sparring both on shared and personal practice
  • have good collaboration skills and be focused on strengthening collaboration across professional groups and with the parents
  • have a good eye for the pedagogical work in both the school and KKFO

What can we offer you?

We have great respect for the upheaval of starting a new job, especially if it is with a target group you have not worked with before. At Kirkebjerg School there is both practice-oriented competence development and good sparring and support in the close team collaboration, so you are well equipped and not left alone.

You will meet skilled, engaged colleagues, and you will have the opportunity to be part of our journey in developing our sequence of special classes. The sequence has only eight years behind it, so there is plenty of opportunity for influence, good ideas and responsibility.

At Kirkebjerg School you are part of the special classes sequence, but at the same time also part of Kirkebjerg School's community.

More about us

The special classes sequence functions as a holistic offer, where fixed teachers and educators form a team around the group of children, and where the educators participate in both school and after-school parts.

Kirkebjerg School has both a general school and a special classes sequence with about 1000 students in total. We continually seek opportunities and potentials in the shared school with many competencies and academic areas.

The sequence has around 76 children distributed across grades 1-9. We receive children within the autism spectrum and ADHD. We focus on promoting each childs resources and developing the students' academic, social and personal well-being.

Employment terms

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. In connection with the appointment we obtain a police certificate and references.

The working hours are 37 hours per week starting January 1, 2027 and it is a maternity leave replacement.

In addition to your application, please upload a CV and diploma/certificates.
