Experienced school consultant sought for Gentofte Municipality

The role at a glance

You will as a consultant work closely with colleagues at the town hall and at the schools. You will be required to support and solve tasks for the head of schools, the director and the school leadership in the work with the common school system and at the individual schools.

The main tasks include among others to

• Support and collaborate with the schools on various larger and smaller development, collaboration, and operations tasks. A particular professional task will be to develop and support reading and writing efforts in Gentofte Municipality
• Be up-to-date with news, agreements and knowledge in the school sector
• Contribute to political servicing, including preparing cases, notes, presentations, etc. for the School Committee
• Contribute to the many and diverse administrative tasks, both permanent and ad hoc tasks, for which the unit is responsible.

You will be employed in the School Team, which is part of the cross-disciplinary Department Strategic Development and Support (SUS). In total, we in SUS are about 45 skilled and engaged people who contribute to operations and development, political servicing, project management and administration within the directorate area Children and School, Culture, Youth and Leisure. You will report to a leader in SUS who handles personnel management, while the head of schools/deputy head handles task management

In SUS we focus on continuously developing and rethinking our forms of collaboration and are curious about new ways to organize ourselves around the tasks. We test and investigate the framework for good processes, including purpose, roles and mutual expectations. We do this because we believe it benefits both task execution and job satisfaction.

Your profile

We imagine that you

• Have a school subject background and very combined with a master's degree or other relevant post- or continuing education.
• Have experience working as a consultant in a public administration or another politically governed organization, e.g. municipality, region or state
• Have a sense for translating decisions and strategy into concrete actions that ultimately benefit the students
• Can drive processes and manage small and large projects and are good at planning and coordinating tasks
• Meet and take on the tasks that come (including those that come unexpectedly) together with good colleagues, both at the town hall and at the schools
• Can think the task through from start to finish, and know when to follow up and provide status
• Have strong communication skills in both spoken and written form, and have and want to use them for everything from professional presentations, dialogues, to written contributions and political servicing
• Have experiences and competencies regarding the schools' work to strengthen students' reading and writing skills
