About the job

We are seeking an innovation consultant with a good overview, who is passionate about developing technological solutions for the healthcare system of the future. You will have the opportunity to work in one of the country's leading innovation units at a hospital, where you will drive innovation projects in collaboration with the hospital's highly specialized clinical environments, researchers from SDU and private companies.

Responsibilities and tasks

As an innovation consultant you will join the innovation unit in the Clinical Development (KLU) staff at Odense University Hospital (OUH). You will be affiliated with the interdisciplinary Innovation and Research Center Centre for Clinical Robotics (CCR). You will help develop solutions for patients', healthcare staff's and OUH's needs and prepare grant applications for new innovation projects with relevant actors.

Projects in CCR focus particularly on robotic technology for automation of patient examinations, freeing up labor and relieving staff workload, etc. You will also lead projects where we develop, test and implement new health technologies.

The work in the OUH innovation unit takes place in interdisciplinary collaboration with the hospital's clinical departments, educational institutions and companies - nationally and internationally. We work, among other things, on identifying and translating the needs of healthcare staff and patients into innovative solutions. We do this by involving relevant actors such as universities, other hospitals and private companies.

As an innovation consultant with us, we expect you to have

  • Experience with project management, a desire to develop innovation projects and to secure funding for new projects
  • Curiosity and interest in the health system and health technology solutions
  • Great confidence in both written and spoken communication in Danish and English
  • Experience with facilitating processes with multiple actors
  • Proactive and independent approach to task solving

Who are you?

The colleague we are looking for has a relevant academic education and competencies within project management, fundraising and facilitating processes. The right candidate understands that unforeseen problems arise continually and can adapt to these changes with respect for project partners, and still ensure that the project reaches a good finish. Familiarity with the health sector and experience with robot and automation technology would be an advantage, but it is not a requirement.

In addition, we imagine that you

  • Work in a structured manner, can adapt quickly and are able to create changes in projects and priorities when the framework dictates
  • Appreciate and co-create trustworthy relationships both with external collaborators and internally among colleagues
  • Are a good communicator, networker, facilitator and knowledge sharer

As a person you should be proactive, independent and thrive with a large daily contact surface. You must be skilled at collaborating with different professional groups and able to bridge between their areas of expertise. This requires you to translate knowledge, needs and perspectives across so that different actors can work together on shared solutions. You are not afraid to take on the project-based leadership role to ensure progress and that projects are driven effectively, but you do not need to have many years of experience in the field

Who are we?

The Clinical Development Department (KLU) at OUH consists of two functional areas: Innovation, Research & MTV and Education & Competence Development, as well as six centers.

KLU supports the hospital's clinical departments so they can best lift the patient-facing tasks. This includes the development and implementation of new health technology solutions and the development of the close and integrated health system. The department is also responsible for coordinating educational activities at OUH, and has a close collaboration with educational institutions on Funen.

Functional area Innovation, Research & MTV is located in KLU and the focus is strategic innovation across the entire hospital, support for the research area and evaluation initiatives. The area thus helps OUH become ready for future challenges, e.g. through national and international projects, anchored locally and creating value at the hospital's clinical departments.

Innovation, Research & MTV has three innovation and research centers. CAI-X works with clinical artificial intelligence, CIMT with health technology broadly, data integration and evaluation, and CCR with clinical robotics. All three centers were established in collaboration with the University of Southern Denmark.

Salary and terms of employment

We offer a fixed-term position of 12 months (maternity/paternity cover) with start on January 1, 2027 or as soon as possible thereafter. Salary and placement are based on competencies and experience. Salary is negotiated under the collective agreement and with the negotiating party organization.

The region is obliged to inform you of the starting salary for the position. You will be told base salary, centrally set allowances and pension under collective agreement 33.01.1. In addition to the starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.
