Do you also have an eye for structure, coordination and good collaborative relationships in a complex everyday life? Then you might be our new subject-matter advisor on the youth area.

In Sønderborg Municipality we work purposefully to give more young people the opportunity to succeed with education, employment, wellbeing and active participation in communities. The youth area is in an exciting development, where strong and coherent efforts across education, employment, health, social services and civil society are crucial.

As a specialist advisor in the Department of Health and Youth you will play a central role in supporting the chief specialist and the leadership team in the youth area. You will contribute to creating overview, progress and coherence in the operational tasks and in the implementation of concrete projects and decisions.

Thus you will have the opportunity to translate decisions and professional needs into concrete actions that support well-functioning operations and make a difference for the municipality’s young people.

Your tasks

Your tasks will be varied and will develop over time. You will support the chief specialist and the leadership team in creating overview, following up on agreements and ensuring forward motion in the youth area’s operational tasks. You will also prepare memoranda, briefings, presentations and other material that support the management’s work and the ongoing development of the operations.

A key part of the role will be to contribute to the implementation of concrete projects and the operationalization of decisions taken. This includes coordinating tasks and processes across the youth area, planning and facilitating meetings, workshops and networks, and supporting collaboration between managers, employees, other departments, educational institutions and external actors. In addition, there will be ongoing ad hoc tasks in an organization where there is a need for flexibility, structure and reliable follow-up.

We imagine that you

• have a relevant advanced education, for example in social sciences, the education sector or public administration
• have experience from a politically governed or other complex organization
• can create overview, structure and progress in tasks with many stakeholders and dependencies
• communicate complex issues clearly and precisely through memoranda, briefings and presentations that support the management’s decisions
• have experience with implementation, coordination or facilitation of processes and thrive close to both operations and development.

As a person you are good at building relationships and collaborating with many different professional disciplines. You work in a structured and independent way, have a eye for quality and deadlines and take initiative when tasks call for it. Above all you are curious and motivated by creating concrete value for young people.

Knowledge of the youth area would be an advantage, but is not a requirement.

You will be part of the Department of Health and Youth in the Administration for Children, Education and Health. Here we work with initiatives that strengthen young people’s wellbeing, health, education and opportunities to master their own life. As a specialist advisor you will work closely with the chief specialist, the leadership team in the youth area as well as the consultants in the department and in the staff.

We believe that the best solutions are created in collaboration. Therefore we work closely with young people, employees, leaders, educational institutions, civil society and other stakeholders across the municipality.

Salary and terms of employment

The position is full-time.

Salary and terms of employment according to the applicable collective agreement and the principles of local salary formation.
