About the job

We are looking for a dedicated advisor who is passionate about building a bridge between young people and the labor market. Do you have strong relationship skills, knowledge of the local business community in Aarhus, and pedagogical flair? Then we would love to hear from you. We seek the right personality who can open doors with both private and municipal companies and create the good match for our students.

With a stronger focus on employability, we want to elevate our EGU track, expand opportunities for vocational training and strengthen cooperation with Vocational Education in Aarhus.

We want

  • that EGU (Erhvervsgrunduddannelsen) becomes a recognized and known step up and a direct path to the labor market
  • to be able to give our students more opportunities to go into an internship (EGU) or vocational training in private and public companies/institutions in Aarhus.

Students at FGU can have many different prerequisites. Maybe they need a more practical approach to education, maybe they have had an uncertain start to youth life, or perhaps they need a safe transition into the labor market. As a mentor you will be the key person who, in close collaboration with our teachers, mentors and the Municipal Youth Initiative (KUI), spots the individual student's potential and matches it with the right company.

About you

  • You are a strong networker and proactive by nature: You have experience with or natural flair for company contact, recruitment or proactive sales/collaboration – preferably in the Aarhus area.
  • You are persistent and solution-oriented in the face of adversity and changing conditions in corporate collaboration. You take initiative and find new paths when a process does not go as planned.
  • You can open new doors: You can think in terms of strategic and stable corporate alliances rather than ad hoc solutions.
  • You have a sense for the target group: You understand young people with different professional, social and personal challenges, and you are passionate about creating safe frameworks and "training tracks" that ensure a good start in the labor market.
  • You are a strong bridge-builder: You can create a close and trusting collaboration between FGU teachers/mentors, EGU coordinator, KUI mentors and the companies' mentors.
  • You are a good storyteller: You can spot and spread the "good stories" that can shift internal and external culture so that EGU is seen as the successful path to the labor market, as it is.
  • You are structured and adaptable: You thrive in a development-oriented organization where we actively use data to document and develop our efforts.

Your main tasks

  • Outreach work to find internship and vocational training placements in the local business community and establishment of fixed partner agreements with both private companies and Aarhus Municipality/Region Midt.
  • Systematic matchmaking between the young person and the company and establishment of a mentor network at the workplaces to support retention.
  • Close sparring and collaboration with FGU's teachers/mentors on early identification of EGU candidates.
  • Collaboration with KUI Aarhus to create seamless transitions and a coherent effort for the young person.
  • Participation in the tactical work around EGU 2.0, where data, transitions and company networks are continuously evaluated and optimized.

We offer

  • A central key role in a strategic and ambitious initiative (EGU 2.0), where you are largely involved in realizing the content and framework of the task.
  • An workplace in constant development, where your contribution to the community and culture is crucial.
  • A diverse and meaningful workplace where we value a positive atmosphere, and where you have great influence on your own daily life.
  • A strong interdisciplinary colleague community that works together to create the best opportunities for the young people in Aarhus.

Employment terms and practical information

This is a permanent position of 37 hours per week. Salary and terms of employment are fixed in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

We want the position filled no later than February 1, 2027

The workplace will be FGU Aarhus with tasks across our schools and in close fieldwork with companies in Aarhus Municipality.

If you want to hear more about the position, you are welcome to contact school leader Allan Frederiksen at email: [email protected]

The application deadline is Thursday, November 19, 2026.

Application, CV and relevant attachments are sent in a single PDF to [email protected] with subject "Advisor” . Interviews will be held in week 48.

We look forward to reading your application!
