About the job

Do you want to help redefine the authority role in Health and Elderly Care?

Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality is seeking a strategically strong area manager for Visitation and Aids with start date January 1, 2027.

You will enter one of the most exciting leadership roles in the municipal health and elderly care area. The elderly reform and the health reform fundamentally change how we think about visitation, authority, and collaboration. At the same time, we are mid-way through an organizational development where the authority area moves closer to the holistic care and takes on a more coordinating and active role in creating cohesive care pathways and better solutions for citizens.

We are therefore looking for a professionally strong leader who can not only ensure strong operations but who has ambitions to shape the future authority function and set direction in a sector undergoing significant change.

As area manager you will have overall responsibility for Visitation and Aids, including authority tasks within the elderly and health sectors as well as the hearing, speech and sight areas. You will lead two department heads and play a central role in the overall leadership of Health and Elderly Care.

An authority function in transition

The elderly reform fundamentally changes the classic BUM model. Citizens are now admitted to spacious and coherent care and nursing pathways rather than detailed individual services. This means the authority role is developed from primarily being evaluative and benefit-limiting to increasingly supporting wholeness, trust, professional assessments and the citizen's overall life situation.

At the same time, we are reorganizing Health and Elderly Care so that visitation officers in the future will be more closely integrated into daily practice in holistic care and report there two days a week. The case-handling therapists will likewise have a weekly day in holistic care. The goal is to strengthen collaboration around citizens and create stronger connections between authority, practitioners, and the cross-disciplinary professional environments.

The health reform will also affect the area. Known interfaces between municipality and region are changing, among other things as regions take over parts of the current temporary spaces as health and care spaces. Therefore you will play an important role in ensuring that the organization is ready for future forms of cooperation and patient pathways.

Your main duties

You will, among other things

  • Ensure a strong and well-functioning authority organization with high professional quality.
  • Actively contribute to the overall leadership of Health and Elderly Care.
  • Be budget responsible and thereby create coherence between political goals, legislation, economy and professional quality.
  • Develop cross-disciplinary collaboration across authority, holistic care, nursing, training and other partners, including private actors.
  • Ensure that employees and managers experience clear direction, involvement and followership in a time of many changes.

We are looking for a leader who can navigate paradoxes

In Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality we work with a leadership foundation where good leadership means being able to balance between relationships, results, stability and development.

Therefore we are looking for a leader who

  • Can achieve results without losing focus on people and relationships.
  • Can ensure stable operations, meet the budget and at the same time drive development and innovation.
  • Can work in a structured, systematic and data-driven way.
  • Can handle complex issues with both analytical strength and human insight.
  • Can create followership through dialogue, involvement and clear communication.
  • Can bridge between different professional disciplines and organizational perspectives.
  • Has an eye for both economy, quality, work environment and citizen experiences.
  • Thrives in a field with many stakeholders and changing framework conditions.

We imagine that you

  • Have solid leadership experience, preferably as a leader of leaders.
  • Have experience from authority, health or elderly care areas.
  • Have a good understanding of the interaction between legislation, professionalism, economy and political goals.

Why choose us

With us you get the opportunity to make a significant mark on the development of the future health and elderly area. You will become part of an ambitious executive and leadership team that works purposefully with relational capacity, cross-cutting collaboration and joint leadership of the core task.

You will have a meaningful leadership role with great strategic importance, skilled employees and leaders, and the opportunity to influence the development that in the coming years will change the way we create welfare.

Do you want to help shape the future authority role and create cohesive solutions for citizens in Faaborg-Midtfyn Municipality? Then we look forward to hearing from you.
