About the job

Do you have an analytical mind, and can you convey complex issues so they are understandable? Do you have political savvy, and do you want to contribute to strengthening a societally critical area with great attention? Then you may be the colleague we are looking for in the Tax and Growth Ministry's office Governance - Debt and Customs (GTO).

Staff for the debt area

The office is located in the IT, modernization and implementation department. In the department, we focus on ensuring the strategic direction for the ministry’s agencies and supporting their business development. We are currently seeking staff for the Governance - Debt and Customs office, working with the debt area, the customs area and the gaming area.

In the debt area, the Ministry of Taxation and Growth faces an important task of balancing debt collection, so more citizens and businesses pay their debt to the public sector. While there is a focus on the social downsides of debt collection, the effort also takes into account the impact of debt on the life chances of socially vulnerable groups.

The office’s concrete tasks relate to ministerial services, including policy development, decision proposals to management, the minister for Taxation and Growth and the government, as well as answering parliamentary questions. Another task is supervision and business development, which presupposes close cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Taxation and Growth’s agencies, other ministries and the National Audit Office.

In addition, the office supports the implementation and follow-up of political agreements within the specific areas of responsibility. The exact content of the position and responsibilities will be determined based, among other things, on your interests and competences.

As an employee in the office, your tasks will be solved in close collaboration with your colleagues in the office, other offices in the ministry and across the Ministry of Taxation and Growth’s agencies. In the Ministry of Taxation and Growth we place great emphasis on a holistic perspective in task solving, and you will therefore also come into contact with many different professional disciplines as part of carrying out your tasks. It is therefore an advantage if you thrive on solving difficult problems, handling complex processes, while you are able to be pragmatic and solution-oriented in your work.

Professionally curious and analytically strong profile

We are looking for a professionally strong and diligent colleague who can handle content-wise challenging tasks. We usually solve our tasks in collaboration with other offices and ministries. It is therefore essential that you are good at collaborating and building relationships. We imagine that you, among other things, will:

  • have a sharp analytical mind and be able to oversee many complex matters at once
  • have good political understanding and be able to communicate clearly and precisely
  • be able to build good collaboration relationships
  • be able to take responsibility for your tasks and see them through
  • be flexible, highly engaged, have a good mood and a positive attitude when things move fast
  • be able to manage and coordinate complicated processes

We value that you have a relevant graduate degree such as, for example, cand.scient.pol., cand.scient.adm., cand.merc., cand.polit. or similar. Both new graduates and applicants with experience may be considered.

Work close to what matters

In the Ministry of Taxation and Growth we work closely with political processes in an area with great attention and many stakeholders. We put all our efforts into solving our tasks in a proper way while at the same time setting direction and creating solutions for our entire organization.

We are a professional and ambitious department with about 330 employees who daily solve challenging tasks across disciplines. We know that good solutions arise from the interaction between disciplines. Therefore, we cultivate a strong professional collaborative culture, where there is also room for the social side.
