Do you want to lead Strib Børnehus and bring three houses together in a common direction?

Strib Børnehus is the largest early childhood provision in Middelfart Municipality and consists of Bulderby, Kastanieborgen and Stjernehuset. We are one unified organisation with three houses, each with its own culture, everyday life and professional practice under the same pedagogical foundation.

We are seeking a leader who foremost can lead through people. You should be present, accessible and able to build trusting relationships. At the same time you must be able to set a direction, make decisions and create coherence across the organisation.

A central task will be to strengthen the collaboration between the three sites and create a common professional foundation with respect for what works locally.

About Strib Børnehus

Bulderby and Kastanieborgen are integrated early childhood services with a nursery and a kindergarten, while Stjernehuset is a nursery department connected to Kastanieborgen.

We have a shared leadership, budget, MED committee and a parent board. Our value base is built on joy, collaboration, empathy and presence .

Our view of children takes its starting point in the strengthened pedagogical curriculum and the common municipal view of children. All children should feel seen, heard and understood and have the opportunity to participate meaningfully in the community.

Your leadership task

We place great emphasis on how you exercise leadership .

You must be close to the organisation and understand employees’ everyday lives, while maintaining an overarching leadership overview.

For us, relational leadership is about listening and building trust, being able to handle disagreement, give constructive feedback and make clear decisions.

You should be able to

• build trusting relationships with employees, parents and partners
• understand different perspectives and translate them into clear priorities and direction
• create constructive dialogue and handle disagreement
• communicate clearly about expectations, decisions and direction
• develop collaboration and culture across the three sites
• support employees’ professional development and responsibility for the shared task
• develop the pedagogical practice including strengthening the child perspective and evaluation culture

As a leader you have the overall responsibility for staff, finances, operations and the pedagogical development.

You should together with the staff develop the pedagogical practice and ensure good conditions for children’s wellbeing, development, learning and participation in communities.

We do not expect you to master all parts of the task from day one. We place greater emphasis on your ability to reflect on your own leadership, develop relationships and create movement in the organisation.

Your background

You are pedagogically educated and have experience from the 0-6-year area.

You have leadership experience and can show how, through your leadership, you have contributed to the development of employees, professional practice or the organisation.

Experience with personnel management, finances, operations and organisational development is an advantage. You have a leadership qualification or are motivated to begin one.

As the leader of Strib Børnehus you will become part of Middelfart Municipality’s day-care leadership group and report to the head of day care. Here you will receive professional sparring, a leadership network and close collaboration with the administration.

You also gain an engaged parent board and staff who wish to contribute actively to the development of Strib Børnehus.

Salary and terms of employment

Workplace: Strib Børnehus

Working hours: 37 hours – without a top limit on service time

Employment start date: 1 January 2027

Salary placement is in accordance with the collective agreement for pedagogically educated staff employed in leadership positions in the municipalities, our side agreements and any individual supplements based on special competences, knowledge or experience.

The position’s salary range as day-care leader will be from DKK 49,757.70 up to DKK 54,217.44, depending on the candidate’s seniority, further education and personal competences.

The salary range is a monthly salary excluding pension.

A child and criminal record check will be obtained prior to employment.

The appointment committee consists of staff and parent representatives from Strib Børnehus, a fellow leader, a consultant and the day-care chief.
