About the job

Talented nurses from our department have sought further education, as they would like to further their education. We are therefore seeking a nurse for a permanent position, as well as a nurse for a six-month temporary position.

Do you want to assess the post-operative patient and plan specialized recovery nursing? Do you want to work with short-term nursing in acute and elective surgical patient pathways from start to finish?

Then we would very much like to hear from you.

About us In Operation and Recovery we receive patients of all ages from the central operating department within the specialities of organ surgery, gynecology/obstetrics, orthopedic surgery, spine surgery and vascular surgery. In addition, we also receive patients for small invasive procedures, e.g. the placement of central venous catheters, epidural catheters, peripheral nerve blocks, etc.

Furthermore, in Operation and Recovery we manage elective and acute surgical patient pathways. We receive on all weekdays elective, acute and subacute ambulatory surgical patients from the various surgical specialties at Kolding Hospital. In the evenings, at night and on weekends we receive acute ambulatory surgical patients.

The department has a close collaboration with the anesthesia department and all surgical specialties. We provide training for social- and health-care assistants, nursing students as well as intensive care and anesthesia course participants.

As a nurse in Operation and Recovery, your tasks will include: Providing excellent nursing care in connection with reception, recovery and discharge of ambulatory surgical patients from all specialties.

Providing excellent nursing care in acute surgical patient pathways where there is a need for close and systematic observation based on the principles behind ABCDE.

Observing, caring for and treating recovery patients, both children and adults from all surgical specialties, including ensuring they receive optimal pain and antiemetic treatment.

We offer You will become part of a staff group of about 26 nurses, who all take pride in delivering excellent nursing care to every patient. We focus on developing our professional and social community. We value room for social relationships, humor, positivity, a good learning culture and we focus on a good working environment. With us you will experience that daily management is close by in day-to-day life and participates in daily tasks as needed.

We offer a flexible daily schedule, as we are a department with many different start times around the clock. You will have a large influence on your own shift planning via a wish plan. You can expect to work about every 4th weekend in 8-hour shifts. As a full-time employee you should expect to work about 8-10 evening or night shifts over 6 weeks.

We prioritize a training program where there is time and space for onboarding. Therefore you will be outside the normal staffing for 2 x 3 weeks. You will be assigned an introductory nurse who will present you with a structured introduction program. This is arranged according to you and your competences.

If you find the above interesting, we are very interested in hearing from you.

Application The application deadline is Wednesday 21.10.26.

The positions are desired to be filled as soon as possible and no later than 01.12.26.

We expect to conduct interviews on Tuesday 27.10.26

Salary and employment terms Salary and terms of employment for the position follow the Health Cartel - Agreement 32.17.1. The starting salary for the position can be found via the following link: See starting salary for positions in Region of Southern Denmark .
