Organist at Lindevang Church – Frederiksberg

A 75% organist position (28 hours per week) at Lindevang Church in the Frederiksberg Deanery, Diocese of Copenhagen, is vacant with start date 1 February 2027. The appointment is made by Lindevang Church's parish council, Hattensens Allé 12, 2000 Frederiksberg.

At Lindevang Church you will have the opportunity to develop yourself as a liturgical musician and concert organist.

About us

Lindevang Church is known for a rich musical life in both classical and popular music. The music traditionally remains strong, both liturgically and in concerts. The High Mass and the other services are central to the church's work. Lindevang Church is a liturgical parish, and music is developed as a clearly integrated part of the liturgical life in collaboration with the priests, the worship committee and the music committee. The church is normed for 1.5 organist positions, distributed across two appointments of 75% each. The organists are equal partners.

Attached to the church is a professional church choir with five singers, the Danish Boy Choir with associated choir schools, the rhythmic choir Vocalicious, as well as the Solsikkekoret for people with disabilities. The choirs have their own conductors and management, but are attached to Lindevang Church with cooperation agreements. Community singing at meetings and with confirmands is an important part of the church's life.

We are seeking

We are seeking a conservatory-trained classical organist with strong competencies in liturgical and solo organ playing. You have a classical repertoire and may also be active as an occasional organ soloist. You must be able to accompany and conduct professional singers at high masses, other services and church ceremonies. You must be prepared to collaborate with the church's other choirs.

Responsibilities

• To play for the High Mass and other services. Since the church has two organists, there is some freedom in planning.
• To play for church ceremonies.

To have responsibility for and to plan and implement the concert programme in collaboration with the music committee, and to participate in relevant meetings.

• To work closely with the church's coequal organist and the church's priests.
• To participate in the weekly staff meeting.
• To cover the other organist's duties during holidays. For six weeks per year one thus handles the overall music service.

The other organist, Mads Granum, has the main responsibility for the professional choir, including planning, and performs a coordinating function together with the daily manager.

Terms of employment

An organist with a degree as "Church musician with Organ and Choir Direction" or with a PO degree is covered by the agreement between the Ministry of Urban and Rural Affairs and the CO10 – Central Organisation of 2010. Organists with a church-musical master's or bachelor's degree are covered by the protocol to the academic agreement on collective employment of DOKS organists and permanent teachers at church music schools, concluded between Akademikerne and the Ministry of Urban and Rural Affairs. The agreements can be viewed on the Danish Church Intranet.

Salary for DOKS organists

The annual salary for applicants with a church-music candidate degree (DOKS) is determined according to the new salary-AC scale. The gross salary ranges from 363,169 to 442,529 DKK per year in current kroner, but prorated according to the appointment level.

There is a duty to be available attached to the post. The availability allowance amounts on appointment to 46,727 – 72,573 DKK per year in current kroner, but prorated according to the appointment level.

Placement and the availability allowance are awarded according to seniority. In addition, by local agreement, qualification and position allowances may be paid.

Salary for church musicians with organ and choir direction

The annual salary for applicants with the training Church musician with Organ and Choir Direction (formerly PO organists) is determined according to the current basic pay scale. Basic pay step 1 amounts to 350,435 DKK per year in current kroner, but prorated according to the appointment level, and basic pay step 2 amounts to 368,189 DKK per year, prorated similarly.

Placement occurs according to seniority.

There is a duty to be available for the post. The availability allowance at appointment is 29,666 DKK per year in current kroner for service at one church, prorated according to the appointment level.
