About the job
About the job
Are you passionate about complex citizen work, professional follow-up and practice-oriented guidance? Do you have strong relationship skills, and do you thrive in a close, informal and engaged team with attractive working hours? Then you may be our new colleague.
In Care and Rehabilitation we are looking for a new employee for our Team for Self-Selected Helpers (under the Social Services Act § 94 / Elderly Act § 20) and we imagine that you have a strong professional background such as physiotherapist, occupational therapist, nurse or an experienced SOSU assistant.
Since the team was established in 2022, daily life has been characterized by ongoing development and lots of pioneering spirit. Today we are a well-functioning team with control of operations and a high level of professionalism. Our citizen group is characterized by great cultural diversity, where the majority have a minority ethnic background. We handle the professional follow-up for over 300 citizens and support more than 425 self-selected helpers.
About the position and the tasks
The position offers a good balance between professional follow-up and on-site assessment, training of helpers and the close relationship work in the citizen’s home. A substantial part of your daily life will be spent on systematic follow-up and re-evaluation of efforts in existing and new citizen cases as well as competence training.
Your primary tasks will be to
- Carry out systematic follow-up and case work: Reassess and reassess help needs in close dialogue with the citizen, the helper and the municipality’s citizen consultants.
- Competence-train and guide self-selected helpers: The majority of helpers are relatives without health professional background. A key task is to instruct, train and create security in task execution (e.g. transfers, working environment and assistive devices) in the private home.
- Handle complex cases: You will work with a broad and varied citizen group. Most of our citizens have a minority ethnic background, so working with cultural understanding is a natural part of everyday life.
- Put your professional expertise to use: You will apply your specific health professional background – both towards citizens and helpers, but also as a professional sparring partner for colleagues in the team, so we make full use of our multidisciplinary composition.
- Build bridges and networks: Create good relations across Aarhus Municipality – including collaboration with the home care service, citizen consultants, other departments and external actors.
Your profile
We are looking for a colleague with solid municipal experience – preferably from home care or a similar field. Your educational background can be physiotherapist, occupational therapist, nurse or an experienced social and health assistant (e.g. with a function as a mobility instructor).
We imagine that you
- Have experience working closely with citizens and the ability to identify changes in citizens’ conditions and functional level and initiate relevant initiatives beyond your own professional area.
- Have a holistic approach and are strong at communicating professional knowledge at eye level, so you can prepare helpers with diverse backgrounds well.
- Are a structured, independent and flexible employee who can prioritize your own time.
- Have solid experience in multidisciplinary collaboration, where you actively contribute with your professional competences
- Value professional case work, where documentation, assessment and legal frameworks are a fixed part of your everyday life.
- Navigate safely in complex citizen pathways and be able to maintain an overview and set professional boundaries in emotionally affected cases.
It is a requirement that you have a driving licence (B).
Why you should choose us
You will become part of a small, strong and close team consisting of a manager, a deputy manager and two clinical therapists (one occupational therapist and one physiotherapist). With us the professional level is high, but the tone is informal, warm and characterized by humor.
The most important thing for us is the personal match. We are looking for a true team player who actively contributes to the good atmosphere and who enjoys sparring about cases. With us we lift as a team, and even though we work independently, you are never alone with difficult decisions. Your daily life will be characterized by close collaboration with the management, which is often very close to citizen cases.
You will receive
- Attractive working hours: Working hours are primarily during the day on weekdays.
- Thorough introduction and training tailored to your professional background.
- High degree of influence on the planning of your own tasks.
- A professionally strong environment with short distance from idea to action and wonderful colleagues looking forward to welcoming you.
Salary and terms of employment
The position is desired to commence January 1, 2027.
