About the job

Do you have experience coordinating projects, complex tasks or processes – and do you know what it takes to guide a task safely from agreement to completion?

On behalf of Randers Port, Career | a JKS company seeks a project and operations coordinator who can create an overview, follow up and ensure progress across projects, authorities, customers and partners.

You will be a close collaboration partner for the port director and will have a central role in a small organization where long-term development projects and the daily operation of an active commercial port go hand in hand.

Your responsibilities

You keep the course and follow up. Randers Port is facing a extensive development, where the commercial port will be expanded and ultimately moved further out along Randers Fjord. Among other things, new quays, roads, storage areas and other infrastructure must be established – while the existing port must function every day.

You will act as a coordinator for a broad palette of tasks and be responsible for ensuring that agreements, timelines, finances and deliveries are followed through.

Your primary tasks will be to

  • Coordinate projects and follow up on schedules, finances, agreements and deliveries
  • Plan project and construction meetings and prepare minutes and decision basis
  • Collect and structure material from authorities, advisers and contractors
  • Identify errors, deficiencies and risks and ensure they are clearly highlighted and managed
  • Participate in daily port operations and coordinate with customers, ship brokers, stevedores, agents and other companies at the port

You must be able to follow the financial aspects of the projects and respond if budgets, agreements or timelines do not add up. At the same time you support the director and your colleagues with the administrative and practical issues that arise in everyday life.

You do not necessarily make all decisions, but you ensure that tasks do not stall and that the right people are involved.

Your qualifications

You have experience coordinating and completing complex tasks. You may come from a project-oriented role, but you can also be a strong generalist who is used to independently creating structure, coordinating different interests and following tasks or processes through to completion.

You may have worked as a project coordinator, project assistant, project administrator, technical coordinator or in another role with broad coordinating responsibilities.

We emphasize that you

  • Have solid experience with project coordination or management of complex tasks and processes
  • Can work with schedules, financial follow-up, documentation and multiple parallel deliveries
  • Can decipher complex agreements and large amounts of material
  • Have experience with or understanding of authorities’ processes and formal decision-making procedures
  • Articulate yourself confidently in Danish and can communicate verbally in English

Experience from construction and civil works, utilities, advisory services, infrastructure or a politically governed organization is an advantage. You do not need a technical education or experience from a port.

You as a person

You grasp the tasks and create forward momentum. You are proactive, curious and seek out the knowledge needed to solve the task – in the material, with partners or on the port.

You thrive with both the defined tasks and the issues that arise along the way. You can go into detail when an agreement or deadline must be checked, while maintaining the helicopter perspective and understanding the significance for the overall project and daily operations.

You communicate clearly with people at all levels and have the assertiveness to point out errors and ambiguities in a constructive way. You execute, follow up and translate agreements into concrete results.

Randers Port is a small organization where people help each other across functions and titles. Therefore you must be practically oriented and tolerant of variation in the size, complexity and character of tasks. You should enjoy both working intensively at a desk and being close to the activity at the port when the task requires it.

Randers Port offers

Close to the projects and the daily port operations. You get an independent role with the opportunity to shape both the tasks and your own development. You come close to the director, the port operations and the long-term development projects – and you gain a broad contact surface to authorities, advisers, contractors and the business community.

You will be part of a smaller workplace where people know each other, help across and treat each other with respect. Here, each contribution is valued, and many employees choose to stay in the organization for many years.

The daily life takes place in modern premises with a view of Randers and close contact to the activity at the port. It provides a workplace where you are close to colleagues, projects and the practical reality.

The position is 37 hours per week with a fixed workplace at Randers Port. The work is generally on weekdays between 07:00 and 16:00. There is flexibility within the framework of daily operations, but no option for a fixed work-from-home arrangement.

You are offered a salary according to qualifications and the applicable collective agreement, as well as pension, lunch arrangement and health insurance.
