About the job

Do you have documented experience with UiPath and a desire to use it on solutions that make a real difference for hospital staff and patients? Do you enjoy taking a well-defined task and turning it into a robust, operation-stable software robot? Then we have an exciting opportunity for you in a very special organization, where the focus is on the patient and delivering healthcare services at world-class standards.

We are looking for an RPA developer for the robot team at AUH. You will design, develop and test software robots in UiPath that automate workflows across the hospital – from the clinical front line to the highly administrative. You will work closely with the team\'s business analysts, who describe needs and requirements so you can focus on building the best technical solution.

The robot team has been building software robots since 2017 and has a mature development setup. With more and more complex solutions and a need to further scale the existing solutions, we need another experienced developer who can help raise both quality and speed in our development.

From solution description to robot in operation

As an RPA developer, you build the solutions. You receive solution descriptions and requirements from the team\'s business analysts and are involved from the start when tasks are scoped and decomposed, so you together find the best technical solution. You are happy to challenge the description if you see a better or more robust path.

Then you will develop and test the robot in UiPath with a focus on stable operation, good error handling and reuse of components. You will work with many of the hospital\'s business systems. This can be via user interfaces and, where possible, via APIs and databases. When the solution is ready, you will, together with the business analyst and process owner, ensure testing, approval and go-live via Orchestrator.

When a robot is in operation, the team\'s operations specialist takes over responsibility for daily operation, monitoring and error handling. This gives you the room to focus on development, but you do not release the solutions completely. You remain a sparring partner for operations, and you will be in ongoing dialogue about how the solutions run and what the experiences from operations mean for the next robots we build.

Additionally, you participate in maintaining solutions in operation, both on a fixed rotation with the team\'s other developers and as needed, e.g. when a business system changes or a fault requires the developer\'s insight.

In addition to UiPath, the team also works with Python, including Playwright for browser automation and Prefect for orchestration. If you have experience with Python, you will have good opportunities to use it – and if you don\'t, you can learn it with us.

Primary responsibilities may include

  • design, development and testing of software robots in UiPath Studio
  • go-live, management and monitoring of robots in UiPath Orchestrator
  • technical scoping and estimation of tasks in collaboration with business analysts
  • development of reusable components, templates and libraries that make it faster to build new solutions
  • integration with the hospital\'s business systems via user interfaces, APIs and databases
  • maintenance and optimization of solutions in operation in rotation with the team\'s other developers as well as sparring with the operations specialist
  • code review and technical sparring with the team\'s other developers
  • documentation of solutions so they can be operated and further developed by the whole team
  • contribute to further development of the team\'s development standards, working practices and tools
  • contribute to further development of the region\'s operating model.

In addition you may get exposure to

  • development of automations in Python, e.g. with Playwright and Prefect
  • testing how artificial intelligence can interact with robot solutions
  • the use of AI in the team is continually developed. It will therefore also be a natural part of the task portfolio to consider how we best leverage AI. This will be both in our solutions and in our own development process.

Your profile

You have documented experience with UiPath – and preferably with Python.

We are looking for a developer who is motivated by building solutions that work – also on Monday morning when the clinic is busy. You have built and put UiPath robots into operation, and you know what it takes for a robot to be robust: good error handling, logging, configuration and a structure that others can understand. You think in solutions that can be reused and scaled so that as many people as possible in the hospital and the region can benefit. You are organized and thorough, and you document your work.

You thrive in a team where there is daily sparring, and you collaborate just as well with business analysts, process owners and other developers.

We expect you have

  • documented experience with developing software robots in UiPath, including UiPath Studio and Orchestrator. Please describe concrete solutions you have built and put into operation in your application.

It is an advantage if you have

  • experience with Python, preferably with Playwright or similar tools for automation
  • UiPath certification, e.g. UiPath Certified Professional Automation Developer (Associate or Advanced)
  • experience with REFramework or similar frameworks in UiPath
  • knowledge of SQL and databases
  • good understanding of business systems, user interfaces and APIs
  • experience with version control, e.g. Git
  • a relevant educational background, e.g. data scientist, IT technician, diploma engineer, cand.scient or similar
  • experience working across disciplines – healthcare, administrative, technical, etc. Knowledge of the healthcare sector is a plus
  • strong communication skills, including with colleagues without technical background.

As a person you are approachable and good at engaging in different collaborative relationships. You are structured, take responsibility for your solutions and can make technical decisions independently, but you are not afraid to ask for help. You see opportunities rather than limitations and are curious to learn new – both new technologies and new subject areas.

We look forward to receiving your application.

Your new workplace

The robot team is part of Data, Automation and AI in Health IT at Aarhus University Hospital. Data, Automation and AI consists of the Data Unit, which works with business intelligence, and Automation, which works with RPA solutions. We also have a newly started AI unit. Daily operations are conducted in close collaboration with the two other teams. Across the three teams we have an increasing focus on artificial intelligence. We support the entire hospital – from individual healthcare staff to the political level.

The robot team was established at the end of 2017 and has more than 350 completed automation projects in its portfolio. The team has, as first movers in the field, played a leading role in building Region Midtjylland\'s RPA operating model. The ambition is that the team continues in this role and, together with our colleagues in the other hospital units and Region Midt\'s Digitalisation and IT, sets the direction for the area.

In daily operations the team supports hospital units in Aarhus, Horsens and Randers with robot solutions for about 15,000 employees. The tasks range from the clinical front line to the highly administrative – and from solutions that directly support clinical staff to fully automated batch runs.

Further information about the position can be obtained by contacting Health IT manager Michael Werenberg Mikkelsen at telephone 2133 7419 or by e-mail [email protected] or team leader Jakob Egevang Jørgensen at telephone 2349 8297 or at e-mail [email protected] .

Submit your application with relevant attachments such as CV and documentation of education via the job page, so that it reaches us no later than November 19.

The position is desired to be filled on January 1, 2027 or by agreement. Employment is in accordance with the applicable collective agreement.

Interviews will be held on November 23.

The position is as a rule a full-time position.

As Region Midtjylland continually carries out savings and reorganizations, employees in redeployment who apply for the position will have priority.

Region Midtjylland is, in accordance with the EU transparency directive on salaries, which came into force on June 7, 2026, obliged to inform you of start salary or a salary range for a position before offering employment.
