About the job

Sectoral Adviser to the Danish Embassy in Beijing in the field of food and agriculture

Will you help strengthen the Danish-Chinese cooperation on food and agriculture and contribute to a green and sustainable development of the sector?

Will you be involved in implementing and anchoring the Danish-Chinese authorities' cooperation within food and agriculture together with the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration? As a sectoral adviser you will have a central role in the collaboration with relevant Chinese authorities with a focus on, among other things, food safety and regulatory control as well as resource-efficient livestock production, biosecurity and animal welfare.

In the final phase of the cooperation you should contribute to ensuring durable, long-term relations between Danish and Chinese authorities as well as keep an eye on commercial opportunities for Danish business.

You will build and maintain strong relations to relevant partners in China and Denmark and translate the cooperation into concrete results. As part of the food team at the Danish embassy in Beijing you will be the link between the Danish Veterinary and Food Administration and the Chinese partner authorities and contribute to bridging development cooperation, political cooperation and economic diplomacy. You support project implementation and follow up with partner authorities, including planning and conducting delegation visits, professional seminars and workshops.

You have a relevant academic degree and at least five years of relevant experience from a politically governed organization, for example an authority or interest organization within the Danish food and/or agriculture cluster, including policy development, legislation and regulation in the field. You have a good professional understanding of the food and agriculture sector that you can bring into dialogue with the Chinese partners. You have an interest in diplomacy and a desire to learn to apply your expertise in an international and diplomatic context.

Commercial experience will be an advantage.
