About the job

Do you have an eye for detail, a heart for collaboration, and a smile on your face? Then you might be our new school secretary. Become secretary at Skolen ved Sundet – a school with strong communities, engaged colleagues, and a daily life where no two days are the same.

We are looking for a new colleague for our secretary team who wants to help make the school’s everyday life hang together – both when everything runs as planned and when the day suddenly takes an unexpected turn.

As a school secretary you play an important role in the school’s daily life. You help create overview, find solutions, and ensure that employees, students, parents, and management experience a daily life where things function. Therefore we are looking for someone who thrives with many different tasks, can stay calm when the phone rings, and at the same time there is someone at the counter, and who meets people with openness, good humor, and a solution-oriented approach.

Who are we?

Skolen ved Sundet is a four-track primary school in the Municipality of Copenhagen with an attached special class track, the F-track, which also has its own KKFO.

We are located in a lovely neighborhood by Amager Strand, where there is room to breathe. The metro brings you almost to the door, and our beautiful, listed main building with the impressive hall forms the frame of a school that has recently been renovated.

At the school and in the KKFO we focus on committed communities. We believe we are most successful when we collaborate, help each other, and take joint responsibility for daily life.

We see ourselves as professional, smiling, and outgoing. We place emphasis on open and respectful dialogue, where there is room for both professional discussions, everyday challenges, and a good laugh. This applies to collaboration with students and parents, between colleagues, and in the dialogue between staff and management.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have experience from a school secretary position or a similar administrative role. You are structured and responsible, but also flexible and ready to take on tasks that arise along the way.

We hope that you

  • have experience with school secretary work or a similar position
  • are proactive, responsible, and solution-oriented
  • have a good overview and can prioritize, even when several people need your help at the same time
  • work independently and at the same time value being part of a team
  • meet both children and adults with openness, inclusivity, and good humor
  • have humor and a positive outlook on life – also on days when plans change and the inbox grows
  • thrive in a changing daily life with many interruptions and different contact interfaces

What will you work with?

You will become part of the school’s secretary team, where we help each other to bring the many administrative tasks together into a higher unity.

Your tasks will include, among others

  • staff administration, including recording absence, substitutes, and holidays
  • student administration, including enrollment of students and administration in connection with exams
  • purchasing and goods receipt via Kvantum
  • administrative tasks in the systems used by the Copenhagen Municipality and the school, including Aula, MU-student, KAS, Kvantum, and UNI-C

It is an advantage if you already know the systems, but most importantly you have good IT skills, are curious about new workflows, and are willing to learn what you do not know yet.

We are looking for a colleague who takes responsibility for their tasks, contributes to good collaboration, and understands that a well-functioning administration helps create the best framework for the school’s core mission: the students’ learning, well-being, and development.

What can we offer you?

You will be part of a secretary team where cooperation and helpfulness are important, and where we lift tasks collectively.

You will have a varied workday with broad contact and an important function in the school’s daily life. There is room for professionalism, initiative, and good ideas – and to be part of a work community where we help each other and meet daily life with both professionalism and humor.

Salary and employment terms

The position is initially full-time, 37 hours per week, but the number of hours can be agreed to 34 hours.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable collective agreement and are set within the framework of local wage formation.

Start date is 1 January 2027.

In connection with the employment, we will obtain a child and criminal records check and take references.

Want to know more?

If you can see yourself as part of our secretary team, and you want to help create a well-functioning everyday life at Skolen ved Sundet, we would love to hear from you.

You can obtain further information about the position by contacting the school principal Johnni Damgaard Pedersen at 28 35 43 89. You can also read more about the school on our website .

Apply for the position via the link no later than Wednesday 18 November 2026

We expect to conduct interviews in week 48.
