We are looking for an engaged social- and health care assistant for our Respiratory and Infectious Diseases Ward A5/A6 at North Zealand Hospital in Frederikssund.

With us you will become part of a team of skilled and dedicated colleagues where we help each other and prioritise a good work environment. You will have a varied daily routine with both basic and complex care tasks, close interprofessional collaboration and good opportunities for professional development.

We work from North Zealand Hospital's values Care & Attention and our ambition that all patients feel Seen & Heard .

An ward with exciting and diverse patient pathways

We have room for 18 admitted patients with acute and chronic respiratory and infectious diseases. Among others you will meet patients with COPD, pneumonia, sepsis, various infectious conditions and lung cancer.

Patient pathways vary in length and complexity. Some patients require short-term treatment, while others have complex care needs and longer hospitalisations. The ward also has a special function within palliative care and palliative pathways.

As a social- and health care assistant you play an important role in daily care and treatment. You will work with basic nursing, systematic observations, mobilization, rehabilitation and support for patients and relatives.

We emphasise that you actively use your professional skills, respond to changes in patients’ condition and contribute with your observations and assessments in the interprofessional collaboration.

You will have the opportunity to develop your competences within both acute, chronic and palliative care.

Care & Attention – everyone should feel Seen & Heard

In A5/A6 we work from North Zealand Hospital’s values Care & Attention and our shared ambition that all patients should feel Seen & Heard .

For us, care and attention means meeting patients with presence, respect and professional attention. We place emphasis on patients feeling secure, being involved in their care and treatment, and being met as people with individual needs and desires.

Based on Fundamentals of Care we work purposefully with the basic nursing, the relationship with the patient and the connection between physical, psychological and social needs.

As a social- and health care assistant you have an important role in translating these values into practice. This applies both in daily care, in your observations of the patient’s condition, in collaboration with relatives and in the small actions that make a big difference to the patient’s experience of being admitted.

Professionalism and collaboration are a natural part of daily life

We prioritise interprofessional collaboration highly and work closely with doctors, nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists and other partners.

We have daily interprofessional rounds where your observations as a social- and health care assistant are an important contribution to the patient’s overall care journey.

Every day we hold FBA – professionally grounded division of labour , where together we create an overview of patients’ needs, distribute tasks and discuss our professional priorities. It provides space for reflection, learning and a shared professional language.

We work systematically to ensure coherent patient pathways and a good transition between hospital, municipality and home.

An educational ward with room for learning

A5/A6 is an educational ward where both nursing students and social- and health care assistant trainees are a natural part of everyday life.

We want a learning environment where there is room to ask questions, reflect on practice and develop professionally – whether you are newly trained or have many years of experience.

As a social- and health care assistant you become part of this environment and have the opportunity to contribute to the learning of students and trainees in daily life.

You do not need to have experience as a training supervisor, but we would like you to be willing to share your knowledge and be part of a ward where we learn from each other.

We imagine you

  • Are trained as a social- and health care assistant with Danish authorisation.
  • Have an interest in respiratory and infectious diseases and a desire to develop your professional competences.
  • Thrive with both basic care and complex patient pathways.
  • Work independently, take responsibility and be attentive to changes in patients’ condition.
  • Meet patients and relatives with care, respect and presence.
  • Contribute actively to interprofessional collaboration and help your colleagues when needed.
  • Are professionally curious and keen to be part of an educational ward.

You may have experience from a medical ward, but this is not a requirement. We will ensure you receive an introduction based on your experience and competences.

With us you get

  • An induction program tailored to your competences and experience.
  • Dedicated and professionally skilled colleagues who help and consult with each other.
  • A varied daily routine with opportunities to develop your competences within respiratory and infectious diseases.
  • Daily professional reflection and dialogue through FBA.
  • Close collaboration with doctors and other professional groups.
  • Opportunities for professional development within acute, chronic and palliative care.
  • An educational environment where learning, knowledge sharing and professional curiosity are prioritised.
  • A working environment where teamwork, well-being, humour and a good tone are valued.

We know that daily life on a medical ward can sometimes be busy. Therefore we emphasise that we help each other, maintain a good culture of asking questions and together find solutions that create the best framework for both patients and employees.

Be a part of shaping the department of the future

We are also facing an exciting development. When the New North Zealand Hospital is completed, the department will move to Hillerød, where we will be organised in a lung medicine ward and a infectious diseases ward.

This provides new opportunities for professional development, specialisation and collaboration.

As an employee with us you will be part of this development and have the opportunity to contribute with your experiences and ideas for the future patient pathways.

The position

The position is initially full-time, but we also hire from 32 hours per week.

You can choose weekend duty every 2nd or every 3rd weekend.

We primarily work in 2-shift system: day/evening or day/night.
