Pedagogue for the Østerly Foundation – a specialized home for children and young people

Employment from January 1, 2027, or as soon as possible thereafter.

Østerly is a well-established and professionally run children and youth home for up to seven children and young people aged 8-18 years. Located in scenic and tranquil surroundings in Radsted near Sakskøbing. We offer a safe everyday life in a family-like environment, supported by attentive and engaged adults.

Our pedagogical approach is anchored in recognition, relationship work and the evidence-based KRAP method (Cognitive, Resource-Oriented and Appreciative Pedagogy) as a central foundation. We currently have six children and young people living aged 9-16 years. Therefore we are seeking a professionally competent pedagogue who can contribute with professional, targeted interventions and activities.

Your responsibilities

As a pedagogue at Østerly you will

• Enter as the primary caregiver for one or more of the youths and build strong relationships that promote well-being and development.
• Work based on KRAP and other relevant methods to support the children's individual needs and development goals.
• Plan and carry out activities that strengthen the sense of community and the individual's competences.
• Ensure professional documentation through reporting, journaling and development plans.
• Contribute to the practical work that is a natural part of a family-like everyday life.
• Be able to work flexibly with shifts, including evening, night and weekend work, every day of the year.

We are looking for a pedagogue who

• Has a pedagogical education and preferably experience from children's and youth homes. But it is not a prerequisite; finding the right match is more important.
• Possesses both psychological and physical resilience and has a reflective approach to handling complex issues.
• Is committed, responsible and proactive in their work.
• Is well-founded professionally and has strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Has a flexible attitude to tasks and working hours.
• Has a valid driving license and can use it in the work.
• Who can/will see themselves as an integrated part of Østerly and contribute to a collegial community characterized by collaboration and engagement.
• Can match our competency profile.

Employment terms

• The position is 37 hours per week.
• Østerly is not covered by a collective agreement, but has good and proper terms.
• A criminal records check and a child protection clearance will be obtained.
