Specialist physician vacancy in the sleep team – diagnostics, treatment and interdisciplinarity at the core, Ear, Nose and Throat Department, Gødstrup Regional Hospital

Ear, Nose and Throat Department at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup is seeking a senior physician for a fixed-term locum from February 1, 2027 to September 1, 2028.

Are you interested in sleep medicine and keen to work in an area where specialized diagnostics, treatment and close multidisciplinary collaboration go hand in hand?

We are looking for a consultant in otorhinolaryngology who would like to become part of an established sleep team with special expertise in the evaluation and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

You do not need to have many years of experience in sleep medicine. The most important is that you have solid ENT professional competencies, an interest in the area, and a desire to develop your skills together with the team. We offer relevant training.

Who are we?

The Ear, Nose and Throat Department at Regionshospitalet Gødstrup is a university clinic characterized by high professionalism, close collaboration and an active research environment. We work systematically with quality and good patient pathways and participate in regional, national and international professional collaborations.

The sleep team currently consists of three consultants, seven nurses and three secretaries with special interest and competence in the assessment and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea.

Here there is room for both professional deepening and collegial sparring. We emphasize a good working environment where we share knowledge, work across disciplines and develop patient pathways together. We are enthusiastic about our field and the clinic is characterized by good humor and collegial care.

About the locum

As a consultant in the sleep team you will be involved in the investigation and treatment of patients with obstructive sleep apnea. The work includes assessment, diagnostics and planning of individual treatment courses. DISE is included as an integrated part of the evaluation, which you will also be trained in.

You will gain professional independence and close sparring with experienced colleagues. We expect you to actively contribute to the interdisciplinary collaboration and have an interest in quality and good patient pathways. We are a clinic in development and we value good ideas and innovative initiatives that can shape the evaluation and treatment of obstructive sleep apnea in children and adults in the future. There is also an opportunity to participate in relevant research and quality projects.

The work in the sleep team can, if desired, be combined with a role in another area of professional interest in the department. The specific composition of the locum is agreed with you based on your competencies and interests as well as the department's needs.

Job and duty description

On-call and employment

The position includes on-call coverage from the residence with a 30-minute response time and is part of the department's 12-shift back-up on-call system.

Salary and employment terms follow the applicable agreement and are subject to local wage formation.

Employment is conditional on a satisfactory criminal record check for working with children.
