Thus we are seeking as of 01.01.2027 or by agreement a DAC/DI? (DIG) who wishes to have influence in the daily management of both the operating department and the intensive care unit, to influence our good working environment and shape the department's future.

Vejle Hospital is a specialty hospital where daytime work is characterized by well-organised programs, which create optimal conditions for handling the complex conditions our patients have.

On-call work mainly consists of acute ENT and urologic surgery as well as acute and critically ill medical patients in the ICU.

With us, regardless of experience level, you will have space for your further development as a consultant. If you are a newly qualified anesthesiologist you will increase your night-time supervision competencies with a safety net in the form of a specialist colleague on call. If you are a more experienced consultant you will be able to consolidate your clinical work within orderly frameworks. If you are interested in research there are good opportunities for this, and if you are interested in leadership there are various leadership programs at both Lillebælt Hospital and the Region of Southern Denmark.

We value and recognise dedication and enterprise, and give space to cultivate individual interests. If you have special abilities they will be used in the department's operations. We are currently particularly interested in strengthening our physician staff in the intensive care area, but since all on-call doctors must be able to handle tasks across our repertoire because it is required on duty, you will also circulate on our operating theatres. We imagine your daytime to consist of intensive care/anesthesiology 50/50. Over time a more fixed attachment to one department will be agreed.

Shift planning

The position has a presence-based shift function, distributed among 12 consultants.

Employment terms

The Region is obliged to inform you about the starting salary for the position. You will be informed of base salary, centrally set allowances and pension in "Junior doctor – collective agreement 33.06.1 – salary as of 1.4.2026". In addition to starting salary, the salary may include any negotiated allowances depending on the position, your experience and qualifications.

The professional assessment is based on the 7 medical competencies: medical expert, collaboration, leadership/administration, health promoter, academic and professional.
