About the job

Would you like a versatile student job where you become an important part of everyday life in a large and exciting research department?

The Molecular Medical Department (MOMA) at the Department of Clinical Medicine (IKM) at the Faculty of Health Sciences, Aarhus University, seeks a student assistant with start in mid-December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is part-time; the hours may vary, but will on average be around 8 hours/week, preferably distributed over two fixed weekly days arranged around your studies.

The employment is conditional on you being a student, and ends when you graduate or are no longer enrolled in a program.

About MOMA and the Institute of Clinical Medicine

MOMA is part of the Institute of Clinical Medicine, which is one of the largest institutes at Aarhus University. The institute's research spans all medical specialties and takes place in close collaboration with Aarhus University Hospital and the regional hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. As a student assistant at MOMA, you will become part of a lively research environment with many different disciplines, while also being closely linked to our administrative staff and the daily operations at MOMA.

You will become part of our administrative staff of seven colleagues, where you will, among other things, have another student assistant as a colleague. We have an informal tone, a strong sense of togetherness, and a daily life where we help each other and work as a team. You will have the opportunity to learn new things and take responsibility, and we will of course ensure that you receive a good introduction to your tasks. For us, it is important that MOMA is a place where you thrive professionally and get along well with your colleagues.

As a student assistant at the Institute of Clinical Medicine, you will become part of what is probably the largest health science research institute in Denmark. Clinical research covers all medical specialties and takes place in collaboration with the university hospital and the regional hospitals in the Central Denmark Region. We have about 30,000 sqm of modern research facilities for experimental surgery and medicine, animal facilities, and advanced scanners.

The institute has the overall responsibility for postgraduate programs in medicine and in molecular medicine. At the institute we are about 670 scientific staff, 500 PhD students, and 160 technical/administrative staff, collaborating across disciplines. As a student assistant you will work at Aarhus University Hospital. You can read more about the institute here and about the faculty here.

Your tasks

As a student assistant you will have a varied daily routine and help with administrative, practical, and communicative tasks. You will collaborate with several different colleagues in the staff and gain insight into many different parts of the administrative operations at MOMA.

Some tasks will be fixed and recurring, while others arise along the way. Therefore, it is important that you are eager to pitch in, are flexible, and help out when an extra hand is needed.

Your tasks may include among others

  • light administrative tasks in our various systems
  • registration, archiving, and updating information, including in connection with HR administration
  • assistance with updating the intranet and our new MOMA Guide (app)
  • organization and maintenance of our image archive and photo board
  • assistance in connection with larger meetings and internal events, e.g., attendance lists, name badges, and settlements
  • practical tasks in and around the secretariat

You report to the administrative head at MOMA, Signe Budde Opstrup.

Who are you?

You are currently pursuing a higher education. Your field of study is not decisive for us. The most important is that you are eager to learn, take responsibility for your tasks, and thrive with a daily life where tasks vary.

We also hope that you

  • are welcoming, helpful, and service-minded
  • work in a structured way and pay attention to detail
  • have good IT skills, including experience with Word, Excel, and Outlook, and are motivated to learn new systems
  • are open to both administrative, communicative, and practical tasks
  • communicate well in both Danish and English
  • can plan your own tasks

We emphasize that you want to contribute, learn new things, and be part of the community. In return, we ensure you receive a good introduction and the necessary training for your tasks.
