Support educator for a student in the upper grades

Sometimes it's not more academic explanations that are needed.

It is an adult who can create calm, provide support in social situations and help with finding their place in the school day.

At Køng Friskole we are seeking a support educator for a boy in the upper grades. Your task will be to provide educational and social support in everyday life, so he has the best possible conditions to thrive and participate in the school's community.

It's about relationships, trust, and an adult who can stand firm without becoming hard – and meet a young person with both clarity and warmth.

The most important thing is that you are the right adult for the children and the right colleague at Køng Friskole.

We are looking for you who

• is good at building relationships with young people.
• can stay calm and have an overview, even when a situation becomes difficult.
• has an affirming and clear approach to pedagogical work.
• can support a young person in social situations and help navigate within communities.
• can read situations, adapt your approach and help without taking over.
• understands the importance of being a stable and predictable adult.
• can collaborate closely with the school's other staff and contribute to a shared pedagogical direction

You do not need to have all the answers. But you should be curious about young people, able to reflect on your own practice and eager to make a real difference.

This is not a teaching position.

Your focus is the pedagogical and social support – not teaching the subjects or carrying out an academic support task.

Who are you?

You may be a trained educator, a teaching assistant, or have another relevant background and experience with children and young people.

The most important thing is that you have the human and pedagogical competencies required to create a safe relationship and support a young person in the situations where everyday life can be difficult.

You should be able to take responsibility, work independently and at the same time be part of a close collaboration around the pupil.
