About the job

We are seeking professionally strong, approachable, and positive nurses for full-time positions in rotating shifts.

In the pulmonary medicine ward in Næstved, a group of dedicated, highly skilled, and engaged nurses and social and health care assistants work. They agree that it is the best medical department to work in! Where Work/Life balance is respected, with a fantastic shift planner, an exciting specialty, good colleagues, an approachable leader, and a sense of community, where we constantly focus on a good working environment.

When you start with us, you will quickly notice that everyone uses first names, and that the newest young nurse gets to air their good ideas, on equal footing with the professor or the head nurse. Our aim is to be good to one another, with well-being and cross-disciplinary collaboration as our focus.

Time for high professional standards and good collaboration

When you start in the Pulmonary Medicine Ward, we give you a very warm welcome and ensure a good start with our introduction and training program, which takes you through your first period in the ward. At the same time you will be assigned your own mentor, who supports you in everything new.

Our nursing strategy is based on Fundamentals of Care. We have a strong focus on development, we have two nurses with specialist functions, two vocational candidate-studying nurses, and an entire department full of skilled nurses who work hand in hand with nursing and our professional practice.

You can look forward to a busy everyday life at our hospital. An exciting workplace where no two days are the same, and where we have broad and varied patient contact.

In the ward we treat patients with COPD, patients for NIV treatment, patients for home NIV and subsequent telemedical follow-up, lung cancer patients, infectious disease and internal medicine patients.

In addition to the 22-bed ward, the Pulmonary Medicine Department consists of a large outpatient lung cancer assessment, a pulmonary medicine outpatient clinic, and an active research unit.

Attractive working conditions with time for both work and leisure

If you become our new colleague, you can look forward to a work life where there is time for both work and leisure. We know that time is our employees’ most precious and valuable resource. When time is tight, it affects our job satisfaction, the good working life, and good patient pathways. Therefore we go to work on weekdays and weekends with a smile, in day, evening, and night shifts, and we do our best to plan them in collaboration with you.

You should apply if you

  • are a nurse, experienced or newly graduated
  • want to further develop yourself in the pulmonary medicine specialty and medical nursing
  • want to be an active part of a good community
  • want to contribute with your good humor

If you can nod yes to the above, the Pulmonary Medicine Ward at Næstved Hospital is the right place for you. We are about 40 engaged colleagues, and we look forward to welcoming you to our department for exciting, professional challenges and good development opportunities within the pulmonary medicine field.
