The Copenhagen Diocese seeks a building consultant for service housing, etc.

We are looking for a building consultant who understands the many facets of the Church of Denmark's building stock.

The appointment is temporary for a period of 4 years from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2030. The position is a part-time/side job.

Profile

To be considered as a building consultant you must be educated as Architect MAA or have an equivalent approved foreign degree.

Tasks

The tasks involve advice and guidance to parish councils, deanery committees and the diocese upon request on, among other things:

• Parsonage houses and farm buildings etc.
• Renovation, including indoor climate, addressing moisture-related challenges with a focus on sustainable solutions, energy optimization and environmental considerations
• Demolition of buildings
• Construction of new buildings
• Purchase, lease or sale of buildings and building plots.

You shall as a building consultant, upon request, provide statements in matters relating to the above areas.

You will also be required to participate in the assessment of parsonages with a view to determining housing allowance. In addition, you will also participate in the annual building inspections at the diocese's administration building and the bishop's residence.

It is important to note that as a building consultant you may not undertake design tasks for parish councils within the diocese you are employed by, unless the diocese exceptionally approves it.

The above set of rules is expected to be updated in relation to the obligation to advise on environmental, climate and biodiversity initiatives.

Remuneration

The remuneration as of 1 January 2026

• Consultancy cases in accordance with § 8 of Circular No. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the joint instruction for the Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,236 DKK per hour.
• Statements cases in accordance with § 7, sec. 1, of Circular No. 9779 of 6 October 2009 on the joint instruction for the Church of Denmark's consultants: 1,854 DKK per statement.

The remuneration is increased by 12.5% holiday allowance, while VAT is not applicable.

Rates are adjusted annually on 1 January.
