About the job

Do you want to help make a difference for children and young people with disabilities and their families?

We are seeking a new colleague for our specialized team, where we every day work to support children and young people with physical, mental and somatic disabilities and their families.

With us you will encounter a strong professional community, where high professionalism goes hand in hand with good collegiality, humor and helpfulness. We work purposefully with the Child Act, involvement of children and families, as well as a high level of social work and legal expertise. At the same time, we are focused on fairness, clarity and development in our work.

Who are we?

In Special Advisory, we are 10 child and youth advisers, a social work coordinator and a team leader. We are a strong and diverse team that values well-being, collaboration and professional development highly.

We help each other with prioritizing tasks and have a number of fixed professional supports in everyday life, including case reviews, sparring, legal support and collegial feedback. We experience that we succeed best when we lift tasks together and share our knowledge and experiences.

The Family Department consists of five teams: Central, West, East, the Foster Care Team and Special Advisory. In addition, we have an urgent team, family care consultants, a school consultant and advanced child and youth advisers on the municipality’s schools and kindergartens.

Your tasks

You will be responsible for the authority work regarding children and young people with disabilities and their families. Your primary tasks will be to:

  • work with children and young people from 0-18 years with physical, mental and somatic disabilities
  • prepare screenings, assessments and child-related investigations under the Child Act
  • conduct social-educational assessments and make decisions
  • prepare person-centered assessments under the Child Act
  • process applications for disability compensating benefits
  • follow up on interventions and services and adjust them as needed
  • participate in the (emergency) arrangement together with your team until new organization takes effect.

We place great emphasis on collaboration with schools, kindergartens and other partners to ensure holistic solutions close to the child’s and family’s everyday life. We work from a solution-focused approach and with a fundamental understanding that families are experts in their own lives and therefore should be co-creators of the solutions.

Professionalism and development

We work in the case management system DUBU, which supports the ICS method and the systematic approach to social work.

You will become part of a large department with colleagues with different experiences and professional perspectives. We actively use each other in daily life, prioritize professional sparring and work purposefully with learning and development.

We offer

  • An exciting and meaningful job with a high degree of responsibility and influence
  • A workplace with high professional ambitions and a focus on quality
  • Professional sparring from engaged colleagues, leaders and partners
  • A strong collegial community with high job satisfaction
  • Flexible working arrangements, including the possibility of remote work
  • Modern facilities at Høje-Taastrup Town Hall
  • Canteen scheme with varied and sustainable food
  • Access to the municipality’s car fleet during working hours
  • A culture characterized by humor, development and learning rather than fault-finding.

We imagine that you

  • are trained social worker
  • have relevant experience from the authority area in the child and youth disability sector
  • have experience with case handling in the child disability area and can work independently with complex authority cases
  • have in-depth knowledge of the Child Act and can translate the legislation into social-educational assessments and decisions
  • have experience with child-related investigations, assessments, documentation and written decisions
  • can work systematically and structured and can create overview in a busy everyday life
  • place high value on service, communication and fairness
  • have a positive view of people and a good sense of humor
  • are motivated by working with children and young people with disabilities and their families
  • thrive in interprofessional collaboration across disciplines and sectors.

  • Starting 1 December 2026 with the possibility of earlier start
  • Salary and employment according to current collective agreement
  • In connection with recruitment, criminal and child protection checks are obtained and references gathered as agreed with you.

We offer flexible working hours, the possibility of remote work and great influence on the planning of your work. At start you will receive a thorough introduction program.
