About the job

Would you like to use your social work skills to create coherence in the lives of young people? Are you motivated by building bridges between residents, residential facilities and authorities? Then maybe you are the one we are looking for in the Pathways Unit in Youth and Temporary Residential Facilities in the City of Copenhagen.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary pathway unit that supports the implementation of pathway programs at the municipality's § 107 youth accommodation. The pathway programs should create a more systematic approach to the youths' stay and ensure that their needs, development and possibilities for moving on to their own housing or another relevant housing form are continuously followed up.

We are looking for two social workers who will contribute to targeted and coherent pathways for young people with mental health and social challenges at the municipality's § 107 youth housing. The goal is to ensure the right support and strengthen the youths' opportunities to move on to their own housing or another relevant housing form.

About the job

You will be part of a multidisciplinary pathway unit that supports the implementation of pathway programs at the § 107 youth housing. Your task will be to create an overview of the residents' case processes, ensure relevant follow-up and strengthen the coherence between the residential facilities' efforts and the authorities' case processing.

You must be able to work with concrete cases and contribute to developing workflows, documentation and cross-sector collaboration.

Your tasks

Collaboration with residents

  • support residents in understanding their case, options and support needs
  • participate in relevant follow-up, status and network meetings
  • advise on case processes, contact with authorities and relevant financial matters, e.g. personal allowances and guardianship

Social work sparring and coordination

  • advise staff on concrete cases, social law and possible actions
  • create an overview of case processes and ensure timely follow-up on agreements and relevant questions
  • qualify documentation and support collaboration with authorities and other partners
  • contribute to knowledge sharing and development of workflows so that there is a clear alignment between residents' needs, the facility's efforts and authorities' work

About the Pathway Unit

The Pathway Unit works cross-disciplinarily to strengthen the quality and coherence of the youths' pathways – from move-in and skills development to progression toward a more independent life.

You will have the opportunity to influence the development of the pathway programs and collaborate closely with residents, staff and managers across the municipality's offerings.

Your workday

You will be attached to the Pathway Unit with a workplace at Nansensgade, but your tasks will take place across the municipality's § 107 youth housing programs, geographically spread across the City of Copenhagen.

This means that you must thrive in a daily routine where you are physically present at the residential facilities and work closely with residents and staff in their daily environments. We emphasize that the social work support is practice-oriented, and that you gain insight into the context in which residents and staff are part.

You should therefore be willing to move between facilities and plan your workday so that there is room for conversations with residents, sparring with staff, meetings with authorities and coordination with other partners.

We are looking for you who

  • are a trained social worker and have an interest in youths with mental health and social challenges
  • have an interest in or experience with psychiatry and/or social psychiatry, social law and authority work
  • work in a structured and persistent manner and can create overview in complex cases
  • can convey social work knowledge and build bridges between different professional perspectives
  • thrive in collaboration, coordination and development of practice

Experience from psychiatry/social psychiatry, the authorities' domain or work with youths with complex support needs is an advantage.

We offer

  • a multidisciplinary pathway unit with engaged colleagues and high professional standards
  • opportunity to influence the development and implementation of pathway programs
  • a varied and practical role with both concrete resident cases, professional sparring and development tasks
  • close collaboration across the residential facilities and opportunity to translate your social work into concrete improvements for the youths

Employment terms

We are looking for two social workers for 37 hours per week with start on January 1, 2027. Employment is after applicable collective agreement and within the framework of local pay formation. Workplace is Nansensgade in Copenhagen, and tasks are performed across the municipality's §107 youth housing programs.
