About the job
About the organization
UngAalborg is the youth school in Aalborg Municipality. Across leisure and school offerings we work with the core task: to give young people the opportunity to develop positive self-images through participation in meaningful communities that aim to unleash their potentials and give them perspective and opportunity to participate in society.
In this position you will help make it successful in both leisure and school contexts
You will be attached to our youth culture houses Blok X and Stationen , from which many different activities, events and projects are initiated and carried out - all with a strong focus on involving young people and based on the initiatives, dreams and needs of the young people. Here we put art, theatre, music, media, gaming, health and democracy at the center as the common third in our work with communities, learning and well-being.
About the position
We are looking for two creative musical staff members who can complement each other and be key figures across all our work with music at UngAalborg and especially at Stationen. And also in connection with our cooperation with youth educations, clubs and inter-municipal projects. You do not need to be able to check off all of the tasks below.
The position as music staff
In the maternity leave cover, your main tasks will be
- Drive the musical environment: Coordinate, develop and teach on our leisure groups (and possibly school groups) in areas such as audio production, ensemble playing, songwriting and instrument teaching – always with the sense of community at the center
- Be the technical anchor: Handle all sound engineering in connection with our activities, projects and events where music is involved
- Create events and frameworks: Develop and facilitate events such as Open Mic at Stationen
- Run facilities: Be responsible for operation and coaching in rehearsal rooms and the recording studio (including band coaching)
- Strengthen well-being: Use music as a lever for the youths' well-being and personal development
- Cross-cutting collaboration and projects: Contribute the musical perspective to UngAalborg's other efforts, e.g., our youth festival Grundlovsfesten
You are the perfect match if
- You are a curious, creative person with strong relational skills and a good and immediate rapport with young people
- You can be a role model for young people and are passionate about working with young people and making a difference
- You have good drive, are proactive and can inspire young people, especially regarding what music can do for young people's self-image
- You can plan, coordinate and facilitate creative processes
- You are brave, curious and solution-oriented – also when obstacles and challenges arise
- You thrive in a project-oriented workplace in constant development with many varied tasks from process and development tasks to administrative functions
- You are ready for changing working hours, including weekends and evening work and high workload at some times of the year
In addition, you should be able to see yourself working according to the organization's ideals, including that you:
- understand that all involved are collectively responsible for success
- can put your own professional skills to use in new ways
- challenge the notion of how learning can occur
- believe that collaboration elevates the task
- have courage, take action and therefore make mistakes
We can offer
- A job in a dynamic organization where job satisfaction and trust are paramount.
- Close collaboration in a creative, innovative and strong interdisciplinary team of project staff at Blok X, Stationen and the rest of UngAalborg.
- High spirits and room to make mistakes.
- A professional approach to tasks and activities.
