About the job

Do you have a passion for agriculture, and would you like to share your professional expertise with future farmers? Do you also want to develop new learning environments where teaching, practical farming operations, and green transition go hand in hand? Then you have the opportunity to become a teacher in the agricultural education at ZBC in Slagelse.

We are seeking a relationship-oriented and professionally strong teacher with a start date of January 1, 2027, and preferably earlier. You will have a daily life with both teaching and practical tasks, as well as the opportunity to influence the development of our agricultural school.

About the job

As a subject teacher you will teach in the agricultural education's grunnforløb (introductory) and hovedforløb (main program). You plan and conduct teaching where theory and practice go hand in hand, and where students encounter the tasks, methods and requirements that characterize modern farming.

You will become part of an engaged collegial community where student wellbeing, strong relationships and academic quality are at the center.

The position also includes practical tasks related to the school's agricultural environments. This can include work with fields, machines, cultivation areas, a greenhouse and the facilities that the students use in their teaching. The daily operation is not a separate track, but an opportunity to turn real tasks into an active part of the students' learning.

You also have the opportunity to become part of the Grobund project, where we develop new practice-oriented learning environments and teaching modules. Here we work, among other things, with regenerative farming, sustainable cultivation, soil understanding and the connection between agriculture, nature and food production. The development includes, among other things, our areas, machines and greenhouse environments, so that students get better opportunities to investigate, test and learn through concrete work processes.

Quotes from our staff

”I was really warmly welcomed by colleagues, and I experienced from day one that there was professional sparring,” Hans Christian Højgaard.

”You immediately meet incredibly friendly people who just want to help. It’s a really good work environment, I think,” Martin Bank Samsing.

Your main tasks

First and foremost, you must be a teacher. At the same time, we expect you to want to use your practical competencies in the learning environments that are part of the school’s everyday life.

Tasks include among others

  • Teaching, planning and evaluation in the grunnforløb and hovedforløb of the agricultural education.
  • Organizing practice-oriented learning programs where students work with concrete agricultural technical problems.
  • Participation in practical tasks and the ongoing development of fields, machines, cultivation environments and other teaching facilities.
  • Participation in the Grobund project and the development of new learning modules focused, among other things, on regenerative agriculture and sustainable production forms.
  • Building safe and motivating learning communities and collaborating with colleagues on students’ academic and personal development.
  • Participation in the school's external activities, e.g. Open Agriculture, go to the farmer, bridging, and other events where we invite the outside world in.

The concrete distribution of tasks will be adapted to your competencies and experiences. Therefore, you do not need to be a specialist in all parts of farming, but you must be willing to teach, collaborate and contribute to the school's development.

If you have completed a pedagogical education at diploma level and have general competences corresponding to the level in the business-oriented upper secondary education (erhvervsgymnasiale fagrække), it is a plus, but not a requirement. In that case, we will help you with the necessary pedagogical continuing education so you can meet the teaching requirements placed on a teacher.

We imagine that

You are a trained farmer or have another relevant agricultural background and have at least five years of solid industry experience.

You are professionally curious, work in a structured manner and have an eye for safety, quality and good work processes.

You can translate your experience into teaching that makes sense for the students, and you thrive in a daily life where both planned teaching tasks and practical tasks demand your attention.

It is important to us that you are strong in relationships, meet the students with clear expectations and want to help both young and adult learners succeed.

You do not need to have taught before. If you do not have a pedagogical education, we offer relevant continuing education and a thorough introduction to the teaching role.

Why choose ZBC

A meaningful job. You contribute to educating the farmers of the future and strengthening their professional skills, drive, and opportunities in the industry.

Influence on development. Through Grobund and the new learning environments, you will have the opportunity to help create teaching and facilities that can be used in practice.

A varied everyday life. You alternate between teaching, professional collaboration, and practical tasks close to the realities of farming.

A strong community. You will become part of a smaller agricultural school with close relationships and, at the same time, a large educational institution with cross-disciplinary opportunities in, among other things, horticulture and foods.

Professional and pedagogical development. We offer skills development, collegial sparring and good frameworks for work-life balance, including holidays during the school’s vacation periods.

Employment

There is a permanent full-time position with start date January 1, 2027, and preferably earlier.

The employment area is ZBC with primary place of employment at C.A. Olesensvej 2, 4200 Slagelse.

Employment is on terms akin to civil service in accordance with agreements between the Ministry of Finance and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations (Lærernes Centralorganisation). This includes, among other things, a pension scheme of 18%.
