About the job

Become our new service consultant at Aalborg University Hospital

Are you passionate about logistics, optimization and do you thrive in combining data and analysis with a visible presence in operations and close dialogue with the hospital departments? Then you might be our new service consultant in Service & Cleaning at Aalborg University Hospital.

We are looking for a proactive and development-oriented service consultant who will take responsibility for optimizing the supply of patient clothing and linen across the hospital. You will play a central role in ensuring stable deliveries, reducing waste and unnecessary costs, and supporting an efficient just-in-time operation, where the supply matches each department’s needs.

You report to the unit manager for Contract Management and Development and will become an important sparring partner for both departments and colleagues. With your analytical approach, your understanding of operations and your strong collaboration skills, you translate data and observations into practical actions that can be felt in everyday life.

About the job

As a service consultant in the cross-functional department Service & Cleaning you will have the overall responsibility for the management, controlling and optimization of the hospital’s linen and supply processes. You will work across the organization and ensure that orders, inventories and deliveries of patient clothing and linen reflect the respective departments’ needs and activity levels.

You will have a varied day, where you work with analyses, planning and follow-up and are visible in the departments. Here you observe workflows, advise staff and ensure the correct deliveries to departments.

An important part of the job is to create coherence between data, behavior and workflows. You must therefore not only identify improvement opportunities but also ensure that the solutions are implemented, followed up and anchored in the organization, so that the physical presence on site is required.

Your main tasks

Management and controlling of linen supply

  • Implementation and follow-up of the linen concept in the hospital’s departments to ensure quality and stability in the daily supply flow.
  • Ensure correct ordering and appropriate inventories of patient clothing and linen in relation to the departments’ needs and activity level.
  • Analyze consumption data, statistics and key figures and translate the results into concrete solutions in relation to ordering, stock management and logistics.
  • Monitor the delivery flow, follow up on deviations and ensure correct return of linen supplies.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce waste, limit unnecessary costs and improve the use of resources.
  • Advice and collaborate closely with operations, chief ward nurses and other key personnel.
  • Collect feedback from users and translate their experiences into concrete improvements of deliveries, packaging and product assortment.

Development, implementation and behavioral change

  • Plan, coordinate and drive improvement and development processes from idea to implementation and follow-up.
  • Prepare and communicate clear information, preferably using visual means, graphical layouts and nudging, that support appropriate behavior.
  • Develop and test new solutions in collaboration with the affected departments and ensure that improvements work in practice.
  • Follow up on the effect of implemented initiatives and adjust efforts to maintain results over time.
  • Contribute to a culture where dialogue, knowledge sharing and continuous improvements are a natural part of everyday life.

Who are you?

We imagine that you have experience with linen functions, logistics, supply management or similar operational processes. You have a good understanding of the connection between consumption, inventories, orders and daily operations – and you are motivated to find solutions that work both in theory and in practice.

You are analytical and structured, yet you enjoy engaging with staff and following up on how workflows function in reality. You can work independently, prioritise your time and create momentum, even when the day is busy and needs change.

We especially value that you

  • Communicate clearly and build good relationships. You meet different professional groups on equal terms, listen to their needs and create understanding for the solutions you recommend.
  • Are proactive and good at prioritizing. You can maintain an overview, make decisions and focus on the actions that make the biggest difference.
  • Are proactive and solution-oriented. You take initiative, challenge inappropriate workflows and follow up when something needs to be improved.
  • Have strong analytical competencies. You can work with data, statistics and key figures and translate your analyses into concrete actions and measurable improvements.
  • Have a practical and visible approach to tasks. You thrive being close to operations, observe workflows and advise staff
  • Are good at collaborating and delivering results through others. You can coordinate efforts with departments, suppliers and staff in departments.
  • Are motivated by development and perseverance. You understand that lasting improvements require ongoing follow-up, adjustment and anchoring.

You also have IT skills at a user level and are familiar with using relevant digital tools in your work. Experience with Excel, data follow-up and visual communication will be an advantage.

What can we offer you?

At Service & Cleaning at Aalborg University Hospital you will have a central role in an important part of the hospital’s daily operations.
