Cantor for Vester Vedsted, Hviding and Mandø Churches

A position as church singer at Vester Vedsted, Hviding and Mandø Churches , Ribe Deanery, Ribe Diocese is available for occupancy as of 1 December 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter .

You will be one of a total of three church singers and will be part of a small and well-functioning team.

A flexible job

The position is on an average of 3 hours per week , and the work mainly consists in

• singing the hymns and songs at services and church ceremonies such as baptism, weddings, funerals/cremations
• reading the opening and closing prayers
• helping to create a good and welcoming atmosphere around

The work takes place on Sundays and holidays as well as weekdays. The three church singers plan the work together, and there are good opportunities to tailor it to individual needs.

Thus, the position can be an obvious student job or part-time job . We hope that you

• want to sing together with others and help give life to communal singing
• are friendly, approachable and collaborative towards the congregation, colleagues and parish council
• have some familiarity with the Church of Denmark – or would like to get to know it better

You do not need to have a specific education to apply . The most important thing is that you want to sing and be part of the community around our churches.

The appointment is governed by the Collective Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and CO10 – Central Organization of 2010 and the organizational agreement for church officials with core duties such as sexton, church and cultural worker or church musician and the accompanying protocol for church musicians.

The annual salary is agreed within the range of 333,748 DKK and 475,590 DKK (current kroner).

There is a commitment to be available for the position. The availability allowance amounts to annually 27,641 DKK (current kroner).

OK allowance of 1,082 DKK per year (current kroner).

Wages, OK allowance and the availability allowance are quotaed in accordance with the position's employment fraction. The parish council's proposed salary level is 333,748 DKK for a 37-hour appointment (current kroner).

The agreement on placement in the pay scale is entered into between the parish council and the Danish Church Musician Association.
